50 bones gets you a measly 5k gp and 50k xp? Is this some sort of joke?

It'll unlock something later. For now (and after the next thing), it's repeatable. Only the first time does that. The other times require different items and give different rewards.

Fair enough. I look forward to the next part of the quest then.

Double the award or something. Better off selling the bones to other players as it stands >_>

well ... I think the main reason people are buying bones is because they think something better awaits them at the end of the quest That won't last long ...

add a .01% chance of getting an existing random rare hat along with the current reward. That will keep the bones worth something ;p
