Well, as the title says, Fangblade was swearing, in a rather obnoxious manner I might add.

I got an idea, an auto-responder for courthouse topics. Scans for words like, swear*, insult, spam etc. and responds with a message.

"Please save GMs time from dealing with trivial issues that could easily be dealt with a simple command that everyone is free to use: ignore ".

Thanks Ventole for taking the time to report this. Hopfuly a GM will take a few minutes and check this out. After all ignore is really the selfish way out and you want to help prevent such abusive behavior discouraging them away from TMW.

Ignoring is the only solution. What is a gm going to do? Ban him? Than what? The user makes a new account comes back even more annoying.

If the person is on ignore their spam / verbal abuse is pointless.

Not to sound like an a-hole or anything but getting tired of people who lack some basic common sense. Use your brain people!

Please read the post about how to make a report in the Courthouse, the topic wasn't really needed.

IGNORE really is the best course of action for cases such as this.

Please keep this in mind for the future.

The problem with ignoring is that by ignoring you are avoiding the problem, by reporting the person, you are helping achieve a solution to the problem. If we simply ignore them, they don't get into any trouble for swearing, they will realize this, and swear even more. By banning the person, or laying down some consequence, we can ensure that they know not to swear.

No. Many such people crave a response. By ignoring them, you deprive them of that. By responding, you feed them.

Ventole,
if people simply ignore abusers, habitual spammers and people who use offensive language, it won't take long untill there is no one left to listen to the abuse, the swearing or the spamming.

THE IGNORE FEATURE IS THE BEST SOLUTION.

If there is no one left to annoy, the offenders will simply give up because there is no longer anyone for them to interact with.

This has been discussed many, MANY times before and the same conclusion always comes up at the end.

Yes but if one time they have something good to say or if they say to you "If you don't reply to me you're a slut" then, of course they will not reply and he/she will spread thew word etc

I'm locking this topic because it is apparent that some of the people here are unable to follow simple instruction.

If these people continue, I'll be arranging a permanent holiday in the ban bin.
