Booth and I AM POOR were banned for 7 days each for repeatedly spaming the server with marriage announcements.
This was discussed with other players and the games administration and deemed to be spamming, via and official server feature.

After being warned several times, Booth questioned the legality of the action and was given a clear explination of why he was being banned.

He should not be banned. This is not a spam. It's just server bug which allows to take marriage so often. Actually we should thank him for exposing this bug.

Yes, but Capitan makes his own rules, just like doors.

Pointing out an exploit could have been done the right way, which would have been to test and report.
Not test and test and test and test....

He was asked to stop and didn't.
That doesn't sound like someone working for the better of the community or the project.

The rules say no spamming. You were spamming. End of story.

Explain to me what spam is then? Because people aren't usually banned if they are 4 minutes apart at one point? So if i said Hello then 4 minutes later I said Hello again, I'm spamming?

Irukard: Last time I checked, per-player script timers don't exist in our ancient version of eAthena, so I'm not sure how you're expecting tmwAthena scripts to enforce a delay...

the marriage announcemets were ONE MINUTE APART, for what i counted as about 6 minutes, i usually warn people if they repeat themselves more than twice a minute and ban after a warning, you continued after the warning, and were banned.

One group was 1 minute apart, the other was 4?

I've never seen anyone get in trouble for spamming 4 minutes apart? Why now? I just saw someone say the same thing within a minute! OMG lets ban him...notice how bad that sounds...Everyone has spammed once without even noticing or trying if we are running through your rules Capitan.

A conversation between people where someone might span a sentance over several lines isn't spam, repeating nonsense lines, repeating items for sale, repeating anything enough is spam.

A player spamming a group of people in town is one thing, a player that deliberatly exploits a feature of the server to spam EVERYONE ON THE SERVER, by way of repeating announcements is the very worst kind of spam.

Some people have said that you may have been proving a bug, but if that was true, you would test and report. Not test and test and test and test etc.

It's been done, now you have to live with the consequences.

That's how all things start, GM's outburst, then try to make thier own rules. If the bug was fixed it wouldn't have happened, doors even did the casino glitch, but what did he become afterwords? GM.

You still abused a bug instead of reporting it and stopping.

Either way, it's a known bug now isn't it?
