Preliminary design for the graveyard wall:

Only basic geometry for now without any texture yet. I plan to add a marble-like texture to the pillars and make most of the grates rusty, dented and/or broken (a lot of variants).

For tileset organisation reasons I have to place the grates differently. This means that I have to make the pillar either much narrower or much wider. What do you think, which version is better:

Looks good crush. imo I think I like the larger of the two. The larger one feels more ominous and old like an old cemetery would feel. Especially once the mable texture is added and rust.

IMO the smaller one seems to flimsy to keep in the skeletons and zombies :)

I like bigger better assuming the columns are to be spread further apart than in the example.

I also think you should post your finished version of this tile in the generic Cemetery thread to give an idea how old/degraded the set should look.

well, it would be up to the mapper to space it out

Perhaps less and larger spikes? One or two less per segment?

The spikes are supposed to be a believeable barrier. Less spikes per segment = more space between them = it looks like your character could walk through it.

Not if they are also thicker? I was after allowing more detail and hence definable shape into them.

The small one looks like the spike fence belongs there and the big one looks like it should be supporting a hole marble wall. IMO the small one in its state looks better also cant wait to c what marble texture you got going.

I would make the fence look more rusty. (more brown like, instead of blue)

I'm all giddy... I just want the graveyard and swamp finished yesterday so I can play in it  The fence looks great to me!

to me the top of it looks like it needs some work. where the post are at the top look like flat sheets of paper and are not even at a 45 degree angle. the bottom how ever are perfect and the marble is great
