Hello TMW!
it has been brought to my attention by chisa that bees are in need of some modification.
one example cited is that they only attack players when their flowers are hit with melee attacks.
they will ignore spells and ranged attacks on their protected flowers.
another is that they have no drop .
i will reference chisa here to add more information .

Chisa is unable to login to forums.
i am posting for them,
"Chisa: 1st bees attack not when ye attack range their flowers
2nd they use unfair 300+ hp attack sometimes
2 bugs
aggro bug + fighting bug.
they must protect their flowers no matter what attack used
and they must to fight fair
so more agressive and fair fighting bees are right
not like killing a warrior with full of warlord just in 1 hit xD
when their normal attacks deal 1 dmg
poison and normal attacks are right
but their unfair invisible attacks are not good for 300+ dmg per hit
1 hit kill must not aggro
like white slimes mechanics
but they must aggro on range and spell attacks on their flowers
they dont"

The more appropriate description would be:
Bees do not aggravate if attacker happens to be few tiles away from the flower. It does not seems attack type is important, rather the fact attacker is not adjacent to flower. Most obvious outcome is that it puts melee warriors at some disadvantage compared to archers and mages.

we can't change this behaviour without increasing the attack range of the flower itself, for the minion detect range uses this same number
we'd have to make a modification in tmwAthena to add a new mob flag or a new field in the mob db

Hey,
I already added bees, but they have kinda strange behaviour. Need to get more familiar with mob skills. Anyhow the idea of bees was to avoid itenplz in some areas (as I understood), so I am fine with strong critical hits - also, the player could even be allergic against bees. We may add an item which avoids these critical hits though, like "farmers hat" or "smoke can".
The problem with attack range I am not really aware of on Hercules, but I think the bee can have different attack range than the flower so this should be possible to be done correct here.
I will try, along with the other tasks for the bees quest (items, beehive mob, honey etc.)
