I all for trying out these ideas. Either a bot examination map or a "jail" map. Whatever it ends up being called, I see no problem with having to type in a couple extra commands.

As my reputation proceeds me, the idea is good. As for people holding down the keys with something and walking away, anyone can do that. To hit keys repeatedly isnt as hard as it sounds. There are programs that can do that too, but only some advanced pc users can figure out how to do that. Point being, if the idea of having a place that the player can be warped to, without knowing they are moved, then alot of the botters would be caught. Another idea of catching botters, is if they are killed, if they are NOT botting, they will click the button to restart. if they are botting, they lay there dead for awhile. In the multiple botter case where more that one are standing on each other, warp them to a couple feet away from each other, and that will show who is swinging and who isnt. Another idea, is to get rid of the bot hangouts. (lower red slime mines where the scorpoins come out insanely) (the entrance to the mountian snake caves) (outside the demon mask chest entrance). Eliminating these points will drop botters sevrely and make them go to a place where it will be easier to catch them and not be worth going to. Creating these points just invited more botters. Make the player work for what they are getting. It is boring standing in one place, and it has become a bog competition to reset thier stats to get the most damage while standing in one place. (with my level, its not a problem to make my stats higher than most, to get the most damage for exp and to get the drops)
It was a good idea to make the exp more with multiple players attacking, but made it worse for those who attack alone. All the changes recently have been for the botter, not against them. Make it so its not worth botting, and the botters will go away by themelves.

The bot check map has been added to the data repository. It will be available to game masters under the map name "botcheck" after the next server update.

Better late than never...

The bot check map can now be used. Here are the commands:

Warping player Foo to the botcheck map:
 @charwarp botcheck 20 20 Foo

Warping oneself to the botcheck map:
 @warp botcheck

Warping player Foo to the botcheck map when you are already there:
 @recall Foo

Warping player Foo from the botcheck map to Hurnscald:
 @charwarp 009-1 50 40 Foo

This is not a discussion forum. :lol:

But on topic.. is this map just so botters who get caught can't use the excuse that they don't know english, etc..?

Don't they still get banned anyways? Since that's not a good enough excuse?

The bot check map is a place to take suspected bots to do check them without affecting other players. It help with the more sophisticated ones.

Ya I know. But I don't really think others are affected.. most people like to watch others get banned. :P

But from Crush's first post it sounded like he meant tmw needs this kind of map because people complain to much after they get banned and make up excuses. But who cares if they are already banned, right?

Also just remembered those other topics about more GM's etc or more ways to get moderation in game. Someone brought up like MOD's who would catch Botters and tell GM's and the GM would ban them so not everyone would have those powers, but they could also lie. So that's basically having a corrupt GM. What about giving MOD's, or w/e they would be called, powers just to be able to warp players onto the Bot map. Then they could call a GM over to go take a look, or if a GM gets on a bit later and the Bot happens to still be there he could be banned. Just an idea.
