Need a feedback guys? :P
This is the most accurate and detailed monster in tmw so far. Very good job, I love it. :)

a good idea would be a wolf mask as well, or maybe even wolf boots or wolf claw, idk lol

Here's another' version of current development as far as I can do it, I will be busy with real life stuff, so
I wont be able to polish more these graphics for a short time, any help is welcome meanwhile.

[+] Spritesheet 92x64:
here --> http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12510339/tmw/wolf.png
[+] mob_db.txt values tested: Speed=425, Adelay=770, Amotion=500, Dmotion=500.
wolf.xml
About dyeable features, colors from wolf pelt proposed by Len looks nice for me, But feel free to develop as be required by developers project

Code: Select all

<sprite>monsters/wolf.xml|#000000,7A7364,7A7364,A09B89,BFBEA6,F3EEDC,FFFFFE</sprite>

Trying to start again with Len's suggestion:
Len wrote:The animation is great, but I think we need a little more butt action to give the wolf a little more spring as he/she pushes forward.
Old animation
ImageImage
with more butt and back movement
Image Image
----------------
6 frames were changed on walking sideviews, and animation delays were reduced to '110ms' on GIMP. But all those changes will need to be adjusted on .XML and mob_db.txt values to get something 'similar' ingame.
I think i'm using a too slow configuration for a wolf, any suggestion about different .XML or mob_db.txt values is welcome. I will try to update it with new suggestions and current changes, but need to know where to start working again.

This might sound a little stupid (or a lot)...but I don't very much like the idea of killing wolves  Though I really like what you did =)

I agree with you fully. This does indeed sound pretty stupid.

This monster develops really great, pateame. Please continue.

The animation, while not perfect, is looking pretty nice now. The main thing I'd like to see fixed is the tail, which stays curving more or less upwards throughout the sequence. It'd be nice if it look furrier, too, like this:

The shading is still somewhat absent and the texturing somewhat random, but it's not bad to look at so while it'd be nice to see those improved it's not an absolute necessity.

Just a though but.. Do you think that this wolf is ok with other graphics in game? I mean, compare it to a mouboo ^^

*BUMP*, ¡Sorry!
I should finish this long time ago but development is boring me enough as to focus on details, I'm a player too!.
It's quite sad to develop something just to kill it later ingame.. (Did anyone play TMW with zoom 300%?).
Anyway, Here's an update on side views with more pixels on tail and new walking frames:
[+] Screenshot preview: (ingame testing with dyeable pallete)
Image
Still WIP:
+ Tail redraw on front and back view.
+ Polish death frames, add more death frames (if possible)
+ Define mob_db.txt values and possible speed issues, but I prefer to keep current speed before crash animations again.

pateame I love it, so much work!

there is a white pixel dancing around in the chest during howling that bugs me a little.
I'm not sure if it is just the gif or not, in other parts this effect makes the fur look more real imo.

This is amazing...if we could charm pets I would get one and kill gina's pinkies!
