Possible Armor

I really like some of the NPC's armor(Especially Phaet's and George's) so I decide to try and make an armor based off of them. Right now I just want to get the front design done and then I might work on animations.

Things I plan on changing:
The Spikes(They just seem wrong to me)
Possible Belt?

You should make it a bit brighter and increase the contrast. The details are really hard to make out. But besides that it is a really nice start. Regarding the spikes: You don't have to separate them like that. You can make one spike overlap the other slightly.

For the finished version I would consider to dye the shoulderpads in a different color than the rest. I could imagine some color combinations which would look really badass.

Yeah, I thought the color was a bit too dark aswell, I will try and improve that.

Edit:
Got done with it. I still feel like it could be brightened a bit more but I feel like taking in a few opinions first.

Sorry, could someone tell my how to bleach the shoulder pads so they can be dyed in game.

As long as they're pure gray (red == green == blue), they can be dyed. Making them lighter will also help. The rest of the armor would be off-gray then, so it won't be affected.

Assuming you are using gimp:

Select the areas you want to be recolorable, go to Colors->Curves and set two of the three color channel curves to zero by selecting them from the dropdown menu in the uppper left corner of the window and then dragging the dot in the upper right corner of the diagram to the lower right corner.

Not sure if I did it right but anyway.

It looks like some of their shading was lost, otherwise it's recoloring nicely.

Don helped me out with this. I had the spikes fixed, then I had a blackout before I could save it.

And here is the newest version. EDIT: Tried to edit the spikes again.

The spikes look perfect now. I think you can now start with designing the female version or with some additional animation phases.

Ok, I will get to work on the female version, then I will start animating.

EDIT:
Starting to work on it. Here is what the female looks like compared to male. I still have a ton of work to do on the female though.

Sorry, but it doesn't really look very feminine to me. Accentuating the abdominal muscles like that looks badass on a male armor but very misplaced on a female one. Also note that the female body shape is different than the male one (slimmer waiste)

Okay, I will change it.

Well, decided to give it another try, probably have a ton of problems in the female version.

It's black leather. It can't be that hard to give it a more feminine design. How about working with some reference material?

I am not having any luck with making it look more feminine. Tried comparing it the first time, didn't look to well.
