I think we need more GM's that can speak other languages, like portuguese or japanese, because not everybody know how to speak english and they cannot understand the rules.

Think on what i just said...

The problem with the brazilian players is that they form a closed community. There are no brazilian players I heard of who have good contact with the english-speaking community and the development team. Thus we don't know who we can trust. Being a game master is a responsible job which can not be given to some random player. A poorly chosen game master can do more damage than not having a game master at all.

Alternative solution to keep abusive portugese-speaking players in line: Finally enforce the "speak english in public" rule properly and treat everything you can't understand like an insult.

By the way: There are Japanese players on TMW? I never saw anyone...

Well I'm no brazilian but a proud portuguese!
So I know the brazilian (they always write BR in their names so it isn't hard)...

Isn't there an option to read the rules in your language?

So your saying we need GM's who can speak Portugese because they don't follow the "speak english rule"?

How would this help? The GM would follow Brazilian/Portugese players around? Or would he simply just be hired to translate, which can be done already?

Translating for the GM team is not a less responsible job than being a GM itself. It would be dangerous to trust the translations of someone who says "Nah, it's nothing" when translating a chatlog from a friend and "It's a horrible insult, he has to be banned for lifetime" when judging a personal enemy.

I hate the way these issues always come down to the fact that there are a lot of Brazillian people on the game speaking portuguese. I hate it simply because there is already a very simple solution in place, one adopted already by almost all large online games: there is a server for their country, in their language, where everyone can understand each other and there will be no conflict.

Couldn't the devs at http://www.mundodosdragoes.org/ give some credibility to any crossover players that speak Portuguese? I'm not sure how much of an issue this is, but figured I'd throw that out there in case people had a constructive relationship with the devs from this fork and wanted a Portuguese speaker as GM.

We from the development team don't have the resources to host a dozend of servers in different languages.

But everything you need to open your own server can be found online.

So when anyone wants to host the official brazilian, german, italian, russian, nigerian or whatever TMW server we will give you all the support you need.

I speak japanese..
But i think there are some problems to be GM.

First, we need to be able to write kana letters when we chat.
it's not easy to read Japanese written in the alphabet.

Second, i can't speak English so much, so it's difficult to talk with other players.
Jiro speak English very well.
I think GM speaks English like him.
