Re: North America: Fishing in Rivers

In VA. where I grew up we mainly fished the Shenadaoh River. We noted that at some point agricultural waste run off became a bigger issue. It was not exactly the small dairy farmer's burden what brought this on though. We had two major poultry processing plants who both on paper and in public were a...

North America: Fishing in Rivers

Folks in North America, spefically in the Mid-Atlantic region of of the United States, do you still fish in the rivers? That is to ask do you feel safe in fishing to attain a mess of fish for dinner, from a river local to yourself? If so, where in geographic terms are you located? Does pollution not...

Regarding attraction of players

See another thread with this as the subject of discussion. Merely desired posting I do not think it is the issues listed as problems, client software, graphics. I'll discuss my views privately if asked privately. Seems public posts are highly moderated.

Re: Attracting new players VS client version requirements

I have some disagreement regarding ease, or complication in attaining the game software. Attaining the software is rather easily done regardless of distribution political, social issues. As even wushin states 4144 does provide repositories for various major linux distributions. Believe instructions ...

Re: Chicken legs

I just need to interfere here. @Cordo: Please don't get me wrong, but to me it seems you just *want* to misunderstand o11c and wushin. o11c statement about "Votes don't matter, what matters is who's going to do the work." is right and wrong. He was refering to "votes are not the impo...

Re: Chicken legs

Barchaul & _cordo_ The players can't "vote" a feature or function in as the staff of developers are all volunteers. They can however convince them an idea is good and then they will work with people on making that change. The best way to do this is by providing part of the work needed...

Re: Chicken legs

Votes don't matter, what matters is who's going to do the work. Code work, plot work, and balance work. Interesting to note I was told by wushin via IRC that it was often players that blocked development progress. Suppose they were perceiving things incorrectly also, or even attempting to offer som...

Re: Time as a Metric

Updating to earlier post, again from IRC this can serve as public record. I'll keep a log for personal record as well. Sun Nov 09 07:53:30 EST 2014 [07:13] <veryape> _cordo_: hrm, other metrics are all in place imo. Just look at the rares market etc. Also people will go thru great lengths of collect...

Time as a Metric

From IRC, thought it easier and saner to simply copy and past my portion of this so as to retain the idea/s which I'm presenting. Did a few minor spelling error corrections and combined two lines at the beginning of the conversation into one as editing. Aside from this it is not edited in any manner...

Re: Content Development Roadmap

These ideas are pretty standard as I'm borrowing from http://www.uo.com/Crafting and http://www.wowwiki.com/Profession as they are pretty much the standard of how professions work. Brief MMOPRG Crafting history Still not getting what you mean by letting players build stuff, because that is exactly ...

Re: Content Development Roadmap

_cordo_ I appreciate your enthusiasm about helping and offering advice. I'm not making sense as this is not easily explained to someone without knowledge of the TMW server script languages. As when I say NPC, I mean script. As all NPCs, Shops, Mobs, are all scripts and callable via scripts. If you ...

Re: Content Development Roadmap

BUMP, Bump, Bump. Also cleaned up some of my previous posting. Somewhat expected further conversation. I forget over here in main's forum as in game, there are all sorts of cliques and clique protocols. "Oh, I won't read double quoted messages." So, hopefully more discussion can be had. If...

Re: Content Development Roadmap

No each profession has a gathering profession. Foragers only gather small potion items; herbs, clams, etc. Mining gathers coal, ores, etc. Tanning gathers leather from hides, etc. Not that other profession won't need items gathered or crafted to make other items. No 1 profession will gather everyth...

Re: Content Development Roadmap

Alright, I see where you are going in regards to back stories. You're extending the role of the current NPCs to fill the void of the back story. I comprehend that and it is reasonable. You suggested foraging as an occupation for the alchemist only. What I comprehend though is you could feasibly be a...
