Re: NPC Development
Be just a bit more careful about the arm widths when you animate the NPCs.
Keep up your effort.

Re: NPC Development
Trainer animation:
Rotonen already noticed issues with the arm, also I see the eye is disappearing during the animation.
Mage animation:
Before starting to animate it I'd focus on fixing the base sprite. The cap seems more a ninja mask than something to softly placeon your head.
The book is way too saturated. Consider softening it a bit. Same applyes to gloves.
Shoes seem a bit too squared also they could use a better choice of color.
The dress seem a bit too thigh and also shading could be improved and curves could be made a bit more natural.
Now regarding the animation: there's one white pixel appearing below the book. The animation it's just a sequence of poses, try to make it a bit more fluid.
This one is a good reference:

Re: NPC Development
Is it possible to post the whole spritesheets? gif's are nice to view the animation, but spritesheets have a Alpha channel and I can edit them

How about this? (I think the curvy sides look too feminine)

Re: NPC Development
Indeed but the effect it's not so realisticjaxad0127 wrote:I think thats supposed to be a wink.ElvenProgrammer wrote:Trainer animation:

Re: NPC Development
Actually the realism is irrelevant: it's simply more about "it does not look good". Also if it looks good, it fools the eye and people just accept it even if it would be a bit unrealistic. We're going with a slightly cartoonish style anyway.ElvenProgrammer wrote:Indeed but the effect it's not so realistic

Re: NPC Development
The mage/wizard is looking better.
The wink takes a bit too long. Try using less frames.
