The reason it took time for me to remove those bans is so that I could get the facts of the case. I'm not just going to remove any ban just because I was asked too. If I did, then the GMs would be useless.melkior wrote:Is that a fancy expression for not caring? Because that's pretty much what was going on. Amusing. I actually wasn't referring to the ban removal. I actually thought you were quick enough about it considering everything.jaxad0127 wrote:The reason it took time for me to remove those bans is so that I could get the facts of the case. No, what I meant was that you didn't bother suspending the GMs (even with all the uproar and ridiculousness of the situation) until threatened.
Nor did you attempt to defuse the situation in which even the GMs admitted (Bjorn's words) that they were wrong. Instead, you suggested taking a "chill pill."

but this doesn't really belong here, I suppose...

The developers are responsible for that.
Its up to the GMs whether people decide to leave or to stay.
You are wrong, very. When I get the old stats back I can even prove thatKatze wrote:I had the empression that it were 100 more than before. As far as I remember there were 50 online on average. But I can be mistaken.
The reason why I'm saying this is that I often feel you seem to forget the increase of the number of players and to include it in your posts. It was just a detection. Not an evaluation of the fact that we have more players now.

That will take a little bit longer
but I can provide you with an old cache graphic of 2008 / october (last data i collected)
As you might notice we only gained ~300 players more a day in ~one year:
August 2009: http://themanaworld.de/stats/online_pla ... &year=2009
October 2008:

comment had nothing to do with the speed of the resolution but more a comment on the fact that the situation was not going to fizzle out and go away on its own so you would have to do something about it and not sit on your hands. I've seen that happen lots.jaxad0127 wrote:#4 - like say, getting all the facts before acting?melkior wrote:#1 - impossiblejaxad0127 wrote: p #1 - You're only making this worse.
p #3 - So, he can't have vacations?
p #4 - What did you want from me?
#2 - he didn't say that and you know he didn't. don't twist words
#4 - common sense
as for what do I want from you? you did everything I hoped you would and could do. I was just stating a fact that you choose inaction as a passive way of "sitting on the fence", instead seeking any real resolution.

Re: Dyna, Dimond and (~_~#) got banned
I have one minute more if internet, thereabouts, and I'd like to say (after hurrying through this thread yesterday, and finally posting today!) that I think the bans were quite unreasonable (especially (~!@$)'s). None of them were breaking the rules.
Therefore, a rule should be made that players cannot do Drop Parties in Hurnscald, Tulimshar and possibly the Mines north of Hurnscald. The punishment for breaking this rule should be a 1/2 hour ban, and 1 hour for a repeat of the offence. A multitude of breaking this rule could result in a 24 hour ban.
I personally have never lagged from this, but some people do as I understand it.
I really have to go now. Ave, TTFN an' all that.

I have stated clearly what I want from you - removal of Delasia and Doorsman (or at least Delasia). You ignored my request.p #4 - What did you want from me?

i think this is quite fair but, the people that got banned were just sitting speaking thier mind, the one who actually was doing the drop party didn't even get banned.Enchilado! wrote:I have one minute more if internet, thereabouts, and I'd like to say (after hurrying through this thread yesterday, and finally posting today!) that I think the bans were quite unreasonable (especially (~!@$)'s). I know he was there and could see this for himself but still.
If people have forgot this is the only reason post buy the GMs for Banning us at all.
doorsman wrote:Those 3 players got banned for mocking and not do what a gm asked. The bans are for 24 hours.
No Talk of drop parties or lag. That came up later after the paste bin of the conversion showed this first reason as false. This hole thing stinks of people trying to find some cover for their actions to save their own hides and has nothing to do with why anyone was banned. Not the kind of kind of honesty need of some the Development Team have left as the front line Representatives of them to the greater community as a whole.

Re: Dyna, Dimond and (~_~#) got banned
I know, I read the thread. I've never had much dealings with Doorsman or Delasia, and have never had any problems, but if what everybody else says is true then... I am afraid I have to say, they should go.
But who'll be a replacement? Unless you can manage with only a couple of GMs.

I wouldn't mind being the replacement.
