Ban me but not forever!!!
Re: Incredible rules for a mistake
Sweety, I am sorry. Truly I am. We all are. But you broke the unforgivable rule.LOLLKILLER wrote:Ban me but not forever!!!
You admit to using a script here. Alons has no reason to lie about this. But, scriptboting is unforgivable. I am truly sorry, when you are ready to start over. Create a new account. Find me or dayve in the game. We will help you get back some of your levels.LOLLKILLER wrote:the thing i learned some minutes ago and didn't know before.
But there is nothing I can do, you made a choice, and like a lot of bad choices, it has its bad side.
I am sorry, but we have rules.

i use no script!!!! stop telling this
Re: Incredible rules for a mistake
Since your character stopped attacking when warped, it could only have been automated. Simple weights on the keyboard won't do that.LOLLKILLER wrote:i use no script!!!! stop telling this
Re: Incredible rules for a mistake
I think banning forever is too harsh for the first timers.
MrWho told me in game, he havent given LOLLKILLER any script or so. (he may have just joked).
BTW, alons could spawn monsters to check script more than once (dont know if he did so).
I know this rule is to set an EXAMPLE so that other players refrain from doing this. Still first timer may not be offered a forever ban but at the 2nd time.
EDIT: alons did spawn. Just saw at gm logs.
BTW, i didnt mean lollkiller should be unbanned or so, I mainly meant the rules itself.

Re: Incredible rules for a mistake
This is exactly what i said. Make the rules clear.
In the rules you say no botting. But you make a difference between bot and bot.
I don't care if it is a program or weights on a keyboard. As soon as I leave my computer and my char keeps attacking, it is botting.
So one rule for all or it is very unfair.
And it would be unfair to previous bots who got banned forever is (sorry) stupid. Thigs change, rules can change (or become clear), people have to deal with it.
btw at least with 4144 you can set it that your char will move near to a monster and you still only need a weight on your keyboard. And it will of course stop attacking when no monster is focussed. If you have a weight on "a" and "ctrl" it will start attaking as soon as something is in focus. So if you would warp the char away and nothing is there to focus, or for example immediately after warping you kill a silkworm, the char would stop attacking.
What is the problem with stating things clearly anyway? Is adding a few words in the script too much of an effort? Wouldn't I be sure that it will not be added anyway, I would even prepare that for you guys.
(Now Platyna can lock the thread, as she likes to do when things get uncomfortable)
@LOLLKILLER: Sorry for you. I can understand your reaction.

Re: Incredible rules for a mistake
I am sorry what? The rules have always been clear. Botting will get you banned. Sorry but that is the truth. In fact, it is one of the few things that will get you permanently banned.Leela wrote:So one rule for all or it is very unfair.
I think you need to read the rules again.
Now violating anyone one of these rules will get you in trouble. But there is not hard, written in stone, punishment system.platyna wrote:Well, time to set some rules:
1. Do not abuse other players (it means insults, swearing etc. directed to a particular person/s)
2. No bots (and by botting I mean ANY AFK activity in game).
3. No spamming/flooding (including trade spam).
4. No begging.
5. Speak English on public chat.
6. RFC 1855.
But let us look at number 2. In the first few years of this game, scripting was not possible, so a two tiered system was used, ban withe reduction, and just ban without reduction.
This was based on intent of the botter. If it was just a mistake, ie fell asleep or was reading the news, then it was a reduction of levels. If it happen twice it showed it was a habit and permanent ban.
When the script kiddies came out, scripting showed it was habitual and intentional. It can not be a mistake that your character is scripted to avoid the rules of botcheck. So it is permanent ban.
But punishment is, and always should be, up to the gm in the case. If the gm sees intent to avoid the botchecking system, it has to be a permanent ban. And this is what we see in this case, lollkiller as admitted using the program. Case is closed, sorry to everyone here.
Now about attacking platyna, please do not do that. I am asking nicely.

This is the current punishment which will be applied to botters.

Rules breaker must be punished according to the rules, there is NO WAY to think the alternate. But remember one thing, anything that is strict & not flexible or adaptive, doesnt survive long. You can learn it even from you own evolution.Katze wrote:Read: http://forums.themanaworld.org/viewtopi ... 12&t=10818

Re: Incredible rules for a mistake
I'm ok with all of you.. and i really told you that i don't use any script. Let just talk with people who knows me... Btw i agree if you want to ban me forever but give me time to transfer my stuff and money. I had so many rares and that were hard to got. I just want it or maybe GM can give it directly to my new char. I'll now try to lvl up with my new account. Thanks for all, i'm a bit sad for this. I hope that poeple after me will not be ban forever for a simple error like this.
Re: Incredible rules for a mistake
How did your character stop fighting in botcheck? How? I would really like to know how your character stopped fighting in botcheck room, but started when returned back to the map? Please I want to help you, but you have to explain that.LOLLKILLER wrote: I hope that poeple after me will not be ban forever for a simple error like this.

Re: Incredible rules for a mistake
i don't know!!!! i didn't trust alon's when he told it... Is it really a script who makes your char stopping and starting attack?
Re: Incredible rules for a mistake
I wouldn't know how you do that without a programmed bot.

Re: Incredible rules for a mistake
i didn't know anything about boting script.... heard it after my ban. Maybe Alons saw something strange or game bug... don't know.
