The potential risk involved here is the fact that it just skipped over a species boundary and is in a fast mutation phase. If it manages to keep the easy spreading aspects of it and by chance gets a 100% fatality rate, that's just about it. The chances might be astronomical, but the possibilities exist.

So why risk anything by letting it spread instead of controlling it like they're trying to do now?

So there are laws that are enforced so you get into trouble for J-Walking and people are also trying to stop the Swine Flu from spreading because they care about lives..

And if you think it's no big deal think again. Total of 157 schools shut down in the state of Texas. 1 State out of all in the USA. 1 country out of all in the world..

It's actually not my school district. But 2 district closing, 1 causing 140 schools to close, the other 17.. and there's how many districts in this 1 state? 50? Which equals how many schools in just this state? This problem is pretty big and people are just trying to prevent it from spreading.

And "what could that do to them?" Is that sarcasm? If not.. as you mentioned the Swine Flu is deadly. But can also just be a few day thing that you get over..

Oh.. Well like I said it can range from mild to serious.. it could just be like a normal flu where you feel bad for a few days.. or it could get serious and even deadly.

my school told me cause i talk with the people who run it daily that if it reaches our district will be closed as well

USA Wisconsin three reports in Madison. my school may be closing

That would be nice and bad at the same time haha.. I never mind a vacation from school but at the price of others being sick is pretty bad..

And in my district there's an Elementary school with a few cases of Swine Flu, but only that shcool will be closing for now. If it spreads around to a few more in the district I think mine will be closing as well.
