Expounding on this:
Imagine you have just downloaded TMW and installed it, you click to start the game and the window comes up black but there is music playing, within three seconds the screen starts to fade into the animation. You are above the planet, panning the opposite direction of planet rotation.
You start your descent onto the planet, flying through the clouds! <At which point the music starts to pick up>
You come down some snowy covered mountains and onto a vast plain where there are fluffies and other peaceful animals frolicking through the grass and flowers. <music has now calmed down>
Camera continues through the plains and meadows over creeks and peaceful settings; but then the camera breaks through into the deep forest, where the animals aren't so peaceful. <music grows more haunting> Vicious snarls and yellow eyes are seen in the shadows, something jumps out at the camera and the camera flies into a cave entrance.
The camera wanders through the cave, happening upon snakes, bats, and various other hideous creatures. The camera having sped up to escape the creatures exits the cave upon finding light.
Reaching above ground again, you find yourself on the edge of a forest, and the camera takes up elevation again. The camera travels to a new location and you find yourself inside of a busy town with people chatting, going throughout various business.
The camera elevates again and descends on places of people training with sword, mace, bow & arrow, and even a few using magic.
Camera elevates once again, descending on a group of people attacking a horde of vicious beasts.
Camera elevates again descending upon a massive interracial war - comprised of Orelons, Humans, Demons, Gaian, Glacien, and Raijen. The camera spirals throughout the various peoples having battles.
Finally the camera elevates into the mountains, showing a few older people from the pure-bloods in a heated argument.
The camera elevates again, into the clouds and looks upon the gods of the planet sitting there peacefully debating with one another. The camera elevates even more until the whole planet can be seen, at which point the sun reflects on the planet and it transitions into TMW's title screen.
The player is now sitting there amazed and intrigued by the adventure he is about to embark upon.
Then again, maybe animated grass blowing in the breeze is a better idea.
