Hi all,

Hope the topic is not close :wink:

The features i would like to see in manaplus are driven by using a low pc and a small screen size.
So i have disable all the things using memory or else, the os is win XP.
And i use manaplus vs 1.3.2.17 coz its the last stable client for my pc.
I install and unistall all the lastest vs of manaplus to see if they work with my pc.
The latest stable vs for my pc seem to be the vs 1.3.9.1 but still dont work like the vs 1.3.2.17.
While i write this post i dont try the new vs 1.3.9.29. so i cant say if its work or not.

What happens?
All are frozen. :|
When i log in after chosing a server i must reduce the mana screen and maximized it to see the log in screen (where you put your ID and password). If i dont do this the log in screen is not loaded.
When i open 2 clients, its the big mess, no more audio or its erratic (sometime audio, sometime not). and the both client are frozen if i dont reduce one.

Because of this i would like to see :D :

- an icon to show when you heal, like on evol online. This icon appear only when you heal yourself (food or spell) or when someone heal you.
You can put a heart of different color to show if you are safe or not. For example red heart: Chocolate Cupcake you are in trouble. Orange heart: an effort plz. Yellow heart : seem safe. Green heart: omg safe. Blue heart: everything is ok.
Just one icon not several and the color can change like in the HP bar while you healing. Why this? coz we cant see any effect of healing or magic when all are disable to save the pc.
- an icon to show when we done or fail a spell on someone else. Its seems there is a msg when you cast a spell but it doesnt works for every spell you cast on someone.
Even if particule effect and else are disable in the config, in the vs 1.3.2.17 i can see them (effect when i cast a spell, or heal me or someone else) but in latest vs i cant see anything, so i cant know if when i cast #betscanc on someone if its works or not, for heal or else.
- on the shortcut window you have 1- 2 -3 tab. But when you use a small screen you can only see tab 1&2 and you need to maximized the shortcut window to click on the the third tab.
You should move the buttons tab, coz before the first tab there is an empty space.
And like this we can see all the three button and the last is not hidden anymore.


others feature i would like to see :) :

- an option to put all the icon (heart (when you heal), poison, conc pot, iron pot, magic) where you want on a side of the sreen. For example a scroll in the config to say i put the icon on the upper right side. Idk how to describe it in english, but its simple, you have 4 side and for each side a down position and a up position. The only exeption its for the side where all the bars are(HP, mana, yellow bar and else), in this case, you can put the icons only on the right side.
- the shield: when you right click to see the items, the only thing you cant see on someone else if the shield is on or not when you look at his item.
- a tab for global annoucement. Of course you can close this tab. But like that you can miss an annoucement from GM's or Candor or for a restart. But this tab must be appear before the general tab with the font in red.
- an option to save our spell window and shortcut or config, if they travel. When you change the server you must redo everything, rewrite all the spell and redo all your shortcut, its a bit boring.
But the record must be in a file on the desk not inside the files when everything is write (for example you can add it in "my document" and not in "program files", this avoid to ppl to touch something if they dont understand a thing)
And like this your config of manaplus is portable on usb key =D. You just have to load your config(spells and oufit shortcut or else) and play everywhere you want =D.
- remove autofollow in manaplus: you cant use it and if you are banned. So no point to see it in the feature.


In game :shock: :

-A regular sound when there is an annoucement. If you are on the general tab and the chat box is hidden, you dont ear the sound, and sometimes you ear it. Oo
This happens for cindy quest, illia quest and global announcement and even when someone write your entire name.
-A place to see how much Boss point you have since there is the Milly's Hero quest it will be good.


Like Biqcassy wrote it, we can see a lot of complain but few thx.
So i would like to thx everybodies who work on the game, even if sometimes fail appear.
I know that everybodies(admin, dev, GM's, contributors...) do their best for our sake.

So, Thanks a lot everybody. :D


The only thing i can say its dont take players for retarded even if some retarded are hidden among the players.
And dont "insult" a player even between the line, its an ugly behaviour for ppl who say having the power and trying to understand the others or trying to help them.
Sometime of course we are upset for nothing and its easy to cross the line for nothing.
So, in this case try to remember what is the meaning of having a "nice" day.

To all with my thankful, have a nice day. :D


Ps : for me nice is something beautiful and full of light, quiet, sweet and tender.
For someone else, beautiful can be ugly and this person can be comfy by hurting the others, and this behaviour can be full of light for him.
The source of the light cant be understand so easly, its for that some players use the path of light but play ugly, and some play the dark path and are helpfull.
So you well understand that you mustnt try to plz someone by doing : code, dev, admin or contributions, because it is in total contradiction with your life essence, and its for that you are angry when someone try to speak to you. :wink:

The possibility of putting players on the attack lists (prefered/ignore)

- useful for events ("Kill the GM")
- useful for targeting certain people in crowds during PvP
- useful for prioritizing healing of certain players

Edit: I know about the settings in the yellow bar (i.e. excluding friends from targetting), but full integration into the attack lists would bring about more possibilities.

Hi,

I tought about something else.

- Now there is more items in the game, its nice.
But there still 300 slot in the storage.
If you want to keep each of each items and in each color you need to create a new alt to keep what you cant put in your storage.
Its for that it will be nice to add 50 or 100 slot in more in the storage (not inventory).
If its hard to redesign the storage why not add a new service who propose a additionnal storage of 50 or 100 slot?

- About the job point, i try just for fun to not allocate the job point and keep all the skill to lv1 until i have all the job point to put all the skill to lv9. Its not possible, until you allocate the job point to all skills its endless.
And i have 180 job point at a moment and 160 later :shock:
idk if its a bug or issue or else.

- After doing the last big update, the storage have change.
Storing the items now is a mess.
Of course you have several option to look for, but before by default all items was storing by ID. Now by default, a item is put where there is a free slot.
Before all the leaves was together, now we can have mauve leaves at the begining and alizarin leaves at the end of the storage. Not simple when you look for quickly something.
Why we must do several action to do something simple?
Before it was simple and clear. Now its just a mess.
Can you put the storing by default as before?

Ok i think its all.

captcha support requires either javascript or iframes. We do NOT want to implement a crappy web browser in the client.

Hi

I have think about this too :)
Plz see the attachment.

Like this we can use more items
And i dont see the point to put a ring at the neck :D
And also the place of the isis heart.

Perhaps to wear 2 rings a quest can be create, reward : possibility to wear 2 rings :o
atm the game give 2 simple rings (terra quest + love triangle quest)

Are you joking?! :alt-2: Captcha "on it's own" only takes ability of client to show some picture generated by server, send user's answer to server and then server have to check if answer is correct. Client already haves some ways of fetching files, like getting them by HTTP via libcurl. Could also be part of eAthena server protocol as well (since you mess with a lot of things, I don't think someone cares about 100% compatibility with Ragnarok protocol, so it's okay to add new packet types, eh? Obviously avoiding older clients breakage). On it's own captcha does not requires neither JS, nor frames. It's just picture + ability of server to check answer.

Example: some Jabber (XMPP) servers do implement captcha during registration. Then, jabber clients can display it. However, it does not involves JS or frames at all. Client just shows some dialog with captcha picture and input field to type value. Then answer sent to server and server compares it. That's all.

p.s. probably you refer to damn f...g ReCaptcha. IMHO ReCaptcha must die and burn in the hell forever :evil:, becasue:
1) I don't like idea to be reported to third-party Google/NSA f...ks when I register on your site. I hate google and all their stinky services, including ReCaptcha. Their privacy policy suxx.
2) ReCaptcha often shows some crap I fail to type on my keyboard. It can display some weird text I dont know how to enter.
3) It often shows completely unreadable crap and usually takes several attempts to get it right. And it's not like if I can expect someone to write bot with even very basic OCR abilities for TMW. So even simple captcha would put bar high enough to keep intruders away: coding bot with even basic OCR abilities is far harder task than writing something I've seen last time as attack tool.

It's not a client-only feature. It's also up to server to know what is equipped and where. As far as I know, TMW server haves really strange views on what and where could/should be equipped, though I don't exactly remember why.

As far as can remember there was the same mistake with the arrows, wrong place.
Now there are in good place.

When i watch my outfit i dont see the server pb but client pb.
Must we let all the things in mess coz its not a client featuring?

What is the point to let a ring at the neck? And a heart at the foot?

Because we can wear it, its good?
Even if the dev dont like to improve other's idea, i hope this can be fixed.
Thanks to 011c the code is updated now.
I think its a good step in the good way.

Adding more equipment slots is on the list of things that would be nice to add to the server.

Unfortunately, some of the packets that send such information are already full. So it will require breaking net API.

But that's planned anyway. At least with my new plan (all packets variable length, pad with zeros) there won't be any more breakages in future. The only question I have remaining is whether I should do it "right" (big endian) or more similar to the way it's currently done (little endian). On the net level, it's no harder for me to do it right, but there may be difficulties during the transition period.

Hi,

what about a (maybe automatic) identification of the character played at the moment?

I mean with things like saved hotkeys or saved armorsets it seems to be good: the magican should have other hotkeys then the archer while playing in the same account.

Right now, you can create 100 different armor/clothing sets and you have 3 tabs for different hotkey configurations.

As see on the screen shot we(4144 :D ) can add in the bank option the different way to store our item.

When you have a small screen size its not easy to keep several windows open.
On the screenshot you can see what im talking about.


And the last point to improve is the scroll when you edit a spell.
You cant choice something easily, or the scroll move alone or you use the mouse wheel.
