- I am already being harassed
- the online list has been used to kill or avoid PvP killers
- the online list is public, therefore its aggregation should be public
- the online list is public, but that does not imply its aggregation should be public
- a brief misdirection about company lawyers and courts.
- a brief melee "you did this without knowledge" "no, this was well known"
- lots of misdirection about the GM log that is irrelevant to ordinary players.
- my aside about whispers
- it is magically different if a developer does something with public data, than if a third party does the exact same thing with public data.
- Lots of Nard's posts have broken BBcode.
- Nard uses "data" as a plural, whereas it is usually used as a (singular) collective noun in English
Except that, in all honesty, I do not see such a post.mistergrey wrote:o11c: Many rather specific examples have been made - if you chose to ignore them, that is your own choice.
I just reread the whole thread again, especially the first page, just for you, and did not see any description of what kind of harassment this would allow, by ordinary players, to ordinary players.
And I will say *yet* *again*: If one player harasses another, the harassing player should be banned. It's that simple, and not affected at all by whether this data is revealed automatically.
(I would also like to mention, a script that whispers random insults to a player is even shorter that the script to aggregate this data. But by the blowing of the winds, people probably don't want me to post that script)
