If you're already level 2 in magic, it won't show the message telling you to go to the mana seed to level up, since level 2 is currently the max level. I mentioned dex because upmarmu duration (number of charges) is affected by dex, but, you're right, doesn't really fit in with the magic theme.

Out of curiosity, why use Ren'Py for Mana Launcher? AFAIK, it's an engine designed specifically for visual novels. Seems an unusual choice for simply launching Manaverse.

There used to be a pretty awesome site called lgdb.org that was a database for games available on linux. I searched it for MMOs sometime back in 2013 (I think) and TMW was one of only a handful of results back then. Sadly that site has long since shut down :(
