April fools day is over [was: END OF TEST SERVER]

Post by Derpella »

Because of continued disruption from some newbies, we decided with Frost that test server will be closed to public. To get access to the test server, you need to apply., like this:

-Nickname in twm
-level in tmw
-the stage in tmw
-date of birth (scan of your ID needed!)
-real life name and surname
-real address
-phone number (will be verified!)

Then, you need to sign this text:

I understand that breaking the set of rules will have consequences with a fine of 500 USA dollars. I agree to all terms. I understand responsibility.

All documents should be sent on Frost's home address:
James Rilke
White Lane 423
Bakersfield, California

I think this is a really bad idea.

Collecting fines from people in a foreign country can be a very lengthy process. The $500 should be deposited before an account is unlocked and refunded when the account is closed without incident.

Is this a joke right? How are you going to colect the fine? I once got a fine for speeding in a neighboring country and i did not have to pay.

Well, I saw a newspaper advert by a Russian dept collecting agency which says they "get your money, no matter what" and they operate globally. I'm sure they won't be cheap, but these fines will also give us a revenue stream which will surely pay for it.

When this is successful, we should think about adopting a similar model for the official server.

Chat-spamming: $10
Not speaking English in public: $10
Insulting: $50
Botting/Multiboxing: $200 + $100 for every additional character

That could be a great way to finally get some order on the server and create a steady revenue stream to fund the development of the game.

Hmm...
I thing players with little time would be happy because of the changes...
Buying a botting permission, like 50-100$ a month, would be helpful and help them enhance creativity of coders. And less work for GM's!

April Fools' Day?
"What's a philosopher? A man who opposes nature against law, reason against custom, his consciousness against public opinion, and its judgment against error."
Sébastien-Roch Nicolas de Chamfort (6 avril 1740-13 avril 1794)

"Imagination is more important than knowledge, because knowledge is limited"
Albert Einstein (14.03.1879-18.04.1955)
