Archers & luck

Post by janica »

How much LUK should archer (85+ lvl) have for killing monsters like jack-os, yetis and fallens, just to minimize critical shots? Does LUK have any effect on damage of forest bow?

My level 95 archer has luck 1. Some suggest 10. It is speed focused.
I can't kill Jackos with it I think only mages and raging warriors can.
Fallens are quick to answer a hit, as they hit hard there is no better solution than being as fast as they are to respond.
Yetis: speed archers can freeze them with concentration potion use :) (agil 100)

2.4 Luck

Raises max lucky dodge.
  • +1 base damage per 5 points of luck for missile and melee weapons.
  • +0.2% critical chance per point of luck.
  • -0.3% enemy critical chance per point.
  • +0.1% "lucky" dodge chance (the right hand part of your evade value) per point of luck (starting at 1% with 0 luck).
  • 3 + (Vitality + (Luck / 3)) % chance of resisting poison.

The idea is: have enough VIT to survive one crit, don't worry about the possibility of two in a row without having time to heal.

Having vit and luck combined (ex: 30 to each) works better than having more of on one than on the other.

Dont even bother putting your points into luck, The damage and accuracy of the bow is all in dexterity. If you want to be a speed archer (after you get the speed skill) id even it out with dexterity and agility.

p.s take advantage of the distance archers have from monsters

My most powerful archer char is level 95 with maximum attack power. Because his defense is almost entirely from stats, he can wear the clothing with the best bonuses without regard to armor.

Stats (including item bonuses):
Strength 10
Agility 104
Vitality 35
Dexterity 100
Intelligence 11
Luck 29

Items: Cat Ears, Amethyst Ring, Sorcerer Robe (Red), Terranite Legs, Clover, and Fur Boots.

He has the maximum useful Dexterity, then the absolute maximum Agility, then Vitality to about 25, then Luck to about 25, then Strength to 10 (increase damage and carrying capacity), then more to Vit and Luck, and finally a few points in Intelligence to give better healing range and mana regeneration.

This character can use his high Agility to dodge most attacks. When he is hit, there's a low chance of a critical hit (because of medium Luck). His medium Vitality lets him heal quickly enough using items.
