I walked through caves fighting spiders, slimes, snakes and scorpions and took one exit deep deep in the caves. I crawled up through the tunnel and saw light. I was blinded by the sun, I quickly looked around I didn't see anything dangerous. I was safe. I lied down and waited for my eyes to adapt to the sun
When I began to see I clearer I realized that I ended up on a very small cliff above the sea facing south. It was quiet and beautiful up there.
I looked around and saw a man sitting there. He only wore a silk robe, sitting on a bench in the sun. He seemed to be at total peace. I sat down next to him and enjoyed the view for a bit. Then I asked him "What are you doing here?". He didn't look at me nor move. I waited a little bit and then I went again "Excuse me. What are you doing here?".
He did not answer. I am an adventurer I go out and explore the woods, the desert, the snow-land. I've come around. I've even fought the dead. He was just sitting there neither moving nor talking. After some time when I got bored I looked at him and said "Hey man! Isn't it terribly boring just sitting here doing nothing? I am bored already. You're wasting your time, get up and explore the world. I have seen so many amazing things on my journeys.”. I kept going telling him where I've been and what I've done. He didn't react. After some time I gave up on him. When I was rested I got back into the cave fighting my way back to the outside. When I was outside I headed east to the Port City. Because I am a doctor and a mage I am allowed to pass into the city which is currently locked off because of the plague. I went to the ancient library and asked a scholar about this man I met. He told me that he had heard about that man but he knows no specifics. He has been sitting there for so long that everybody knows him and he is listed in many books as the oldest being alive but no one knows who he is or what he does. I wasn't satisfied with this information so I traveled to the south east of Argaes into the desert. I met a lot of people looking for answers and all of the pointed me to the sage of the desert. It was tremendously hard to find that sage but after a few weeks I found him. He as well was sitting somewhere not talking nor moving but by his side there were many many books. I took one and read it. It was a book where everyone who came there could write a message or a story. Some of those stories where hundreds of years old. I finally found the right book with information about the old man on the cliff. It is just a rumor but it is said that he belongs to the world and the universe. He is made out of Mana and that he is there to listen to what the world has to say. He listens to all the people, animals, souls and living things. He listens to their wishes and influences the growth of the world. It is said he listens to everyone and you can tell him your deepest secrets. He will listen to anyone. He will not judge, he will not punish.
Knowing that I went back to him and sat next to him. I sat there for a day and a half, feeling his energy and the energy of the place where he was. Then I started talking again. I told him all the wishes I had and all the problems I knew of. I told him everything. I felt like I gave a lot of myself up to him but I also felt my sorrows were fading away. After a few months I started realizing that some of my wishes where heard and some things in nature changed. I couldn't believe it at first but then more and more of what I told the old man happened. I experienced stuff I would never thought was possible. It was even better than what I wished for.
I can only encourage every one of you to tell the Hermit all you wish for to happen. Maybe your wishes become true as well.
