Software Requirements Specification
Hi all!I want to do a SRS for this game!Is it written already? Can i do it?
Re: Software Requirements Specification
As far as I know there is no formal SRS yet.
Our central repository for documentation is our wiki http://wiki.themanaworld.org. All existing documentation can be found there (which - unfortunately - is mostly missing, very brief, incomplete or very outdated) and it's also the ideal place to create your document.
Just curious: Why do you want to do that? Writing documentation for other peoples projects is usually not something people like to do for fun in their spare time.

Re: Software Requirements Specification
This is a part of an assignment for a class i have ,in university , called Software Engineering.
I need your approval to begin.
I need your approval to begin.
Re: Software Requirements Specification
This is a bazaar-style open source project. Nobody needs approval to begin with anything. You just do it, and when it sucks it gets rejected afterwards.
But when you insist on an official approval: I am not the one to ask for that, because I am currently only a forum moderator and consultant. When you are asking who has the authority to give you a formal approval: There is no official project leader either, only a council informally called "Group Holding Power" which makes decision by consensus democracy. We could bring up that topic internally when you insist on it, but I can already tell that the consensus will be "let him do it when he wants to".
By the way: the best way to ask questions to the development team - and you will certainly have them when you do this - will be our development IRC channel #tmw-dev on irc.themanaworld.org.

Re: Software Requirements Specification
What grade did you get for it? I am just asking because most of it is copied from wiki.themanaworld.org and doc.manasource.org without citing any sources and there is also some contradicting information in it.

Re: Software Requirements Specification
Wow ... A lot of your information is flat out wrong, and quite a bit is misleading.
I feel you, though - I took Software Engineering this fall and it was terrible. Even more than most classes, it's all about BSing through what the teacher wants (and I don't think the fact that I go to a different university than you is relevant).

Re: Software Requirements Specification
First of all thanks for the fast responses guys.
Now about the srs, i got a descent grade for it, actually most part of the grade is about the presentation of the project. So i guess i did good on that part.
If you guys would like to use the document , you could tell me which parts i did wrong and i could fix them.
If you don't want to there is no problem, i am fine either way.
