It could be a trivia item first.... And later a quest item... Cuz sometimes it takes a lot of time before it goes in game as quest-item(My first helmet is still not in game xD)... I think this could be a good deal for everyone!

I found this one browsing the forums and got sad that such an epic hat is not completed, I found that the sprite sheet Ali-G posted was wrong/inconsistent with the colours in different perspectives so i tried to fix it.. also i noticed that my pixel artist skillls are not sufficient to make this epic hat justice. However i post my retouch of the sprite sheet and hope that someone with the right amount of talent takes up the work and completes this hat.

So, i played around a little in gimp and came up with this, i know it is not perfect in any way I and would be more than happy if someone can give me pointers or finish up the works themselves.

You may want to look here:

There are many more updated versions of it than the one posted by Ali-G in this thread.

sadly the developers that were working on it are not actively developing at the moment...so feel free to try and help out if you like :) Just thought maybe you would like to maybe edit one of the ones from the trello card than work more on one that is out of date ^^ If you look at the card it also shows what needs to be done.

Yeah, i don't understand how I joint the group as a member though.. Do I need an invite or am I just blind who don't find the button?

The only thing that stands out for me (that has not been playing around with pixel art for like 10 years) is that the colors are to bright and will have to much contrast in the game imo.

If need an invite to join the board as a member my username is veryape

I just gave you access to the board, so you can post your edited version on the card. :) You're also welcome to join the irc (irc.themanaworld.org:6667 #tmw-dev) when you want to ask for feedback. Though due to timezones it can happen that it takes some hours until someone replies.

Ok, i will cross-post here and on trello from now on, so that players (and hopefully future owners/users of the cap can see the progress and come with critique).

I've cleaned up my previous version that had a faulty light direction when the blue side faced us. Also took the copter blade from the sprite sheat found on tello.

I've chosen the original design because i thought that it was less "noisy" and "busy" and because I think that the duller colours will blend better with the surrounding enviroments in game.

Input/critique is greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

EDIT--

I added a gif-animation just to get an idea of how it would look in game with people twirling etc..

Did you think about the XML file? It is currently not possible to animate this hat in a regular animation. You need to extend the number of frames up to 6 per direction in order to have a perfect, regular animation. If I'm wrong about that, anyone is free to correct me by posting an XML file for this spritesheet.

I did see comments about it on the trello project page but since i do not now anything about how those XML files works i thought that the request for six frames was just out of quality/smoothness. I guess i should try and learn something about how that works to get the bigger picture of how it works.

Make one sprite with the hat only (4 directions + dead) and then make another sprite with the coptor. Then do two xmls for each of them and add them to the same item. Then you only need very few individual frames.

Ablu

EDIT: I got it wrong. Your work is perfectly fine and it should be possible to create an xml for it without issues. Alige is wrong. I can do a xml today after school (if somebody reminds me)

I am not sure if I understand completely what you are saying.

Is it ok with only four frames for the animation and one for the dead position?

Also about the alignment what should i fix? The axle or the whole cap? or the caps in the file (like fix them to an imagined grid).

I could fix that and thanks for offering help with the XML
