Adding Signature to Posts
Adding Signature to Posts
I know this is in the FAQ:
"» How do I add a signature to my post? To add a signature to a post you must first create one via your User Control Panel. Once created, you can check the Attach a signature box on the posting form to add your signature. You can also add a signature by default to all your posts by checking the appropriate radio button in your profile. If you do so, you can still prevent a signature being added to individual posts by un-checking the add signature box within the posting form."
This info didn't help me, I have been all through my user control panel and can't find where to make the signature. Or do I have to wait til I am no longer new?
tnx Tas.

Re: Adding Signature to Posts
I hate PHPBB. There are at least 3 completely independent places in the ACP regarding group permissions ...
Anyway: you are corrent, the forum group "Newly registered users" has "Can use signature" set to "Never".
(I *think* if it were set to "No", then the fact that NRUs are also Users would override it ... ?)

Nope, posts in Off Topic don't count.Tasisia wrote:here is one more.
Of course, a friendly moderator might move it to the Support forum ...
Edit: hm, it didn't change your post count ... Stupid PHPBB. I bet that's what the "resynchronize post counts" button is for.

LOL!
Thank you so much o11c for trying anyway!

Re: Adding Signature to Posts
@o11c: I'm just curious: Did it work with the resynchronize post counts? About two years ago when I had my own phpBB3 forum I reported this bug but I don't know if anything happened since back then. Same situation: Moved a thread from a forum where the post count is deactivated to another forum where it is activated but even this resynchronize button didn't update the post counts of the users. Same thing when you change the forum from disable post count to enable...
hehe hope I could help at least a bit
Just never use the "Never" option cause it overwrites everythingo11c wrote:(I *think* if it were set to "No", then the fact that NRUs are also Users would override it ... ?)

Re: Adding Signature to Posts
NRUs are not allowed to use signatures because spam bots frequently use them to place spam links.
This exploits the fact that when people read a forum thread quickly, like every moderator has to do it, they mentally skip the signatures.
