Not able to pick up by left click on item

When I move the cursor over an item that can be picked up at a long distance from my character, the cursor changes to look like a hand, as it should. In the official tmw client we can left click on that item, and our character will move to the item and pick it up. In manaplus left clicking the item does nothing at all for pickup; so we have to move to the item by clicking beside the item and using "z". It would be nice to not be losing the features of the old tmw client. It is less convenient.

Also choosing "pickup" by right click menu does nothing at a distance.

I use manaplus 1.3.3.31 and ubuntu linux 10.04.

Sorry, but official client is manaplus. Probably you mean mana client.
For pickup on different distance you can change pickup distance by pressing O (between I and P) key.
value change in yellow bar (to show it, you must right click on any bar and select "show status bar"

Thanks. That worked when I set it to maximum distance. I'm still trying to learn this client. It has a lot of good features.
