More Skulls at Graveyard

Post by Haldric »

Hello, recently there are lots of skulls (poison and fire) roam around in Graveyard. It makes training harder there because those skulls are really hard to kill. I am at lvl 80 with dex 102 and I miss a lots of hits on fire skull and the poison skull is too hard (can't hit a single hit LOL). Low lvl players 50+ now cannot visit graveyard without the assistance of a mage to kill those skulls. It was earlier was a nice place to train but now a hard place that only high lvl players and banshee archers can train. :(

It seems you missed the discussion about changing the mobs behaviors there.
The monsters automatically return to their spawn position when no player is around.
That's because the graveyard wasn't designed for low/mid levels.

I also hated this change because there was/is no other place to level well at lvl~50-80, but therefore worked on this: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=17940
Main characters:
Lv.94 - Cassy - speedarcher on dark path, bunny-wannabe, would like to ride on a Mouboo once...
Lv.95 - Biqcassy - mage on light path, addicted to her Fluffy Hat, love-hates Fallens, really misses Confused Tree...
Lv.70 - Simca. - dreams of becoming a speedarcher on light path, still has a lot to learn...

Oh yeah, I can suggest couple of ice skulls to add, since it's one of most dangerous locations TMW haves so far and ice skulls are nice representation of scary monster for most players but highest levels and/or deeply tanked setups. In no way low level players should visit GY as their daily job, completely safe, routine and ... totally boring as result . And storing all skulls to freezer is cheating. If you're not happy about them, ask some fellow mage, banshee archer or ranger with bull helmet - they can slay these skulls in numbers. After all, networked MMORPGs are also about interacting with some players arounds you as well.

I don't have a large opinion on this, but I always thought of storing the skulls as realistic, in the way that undead just roam around in a zombified state and you lure them into a boxed area. I wonder how hard it would be to make them wander back towards their spawn point after they are so many squares away from it, making them want to stay closer to their own grave maybe. ??? just a thought. I know it would suck even more for grinding, as it would be impossible to permanently store the skulls, in that event, but I think folks would mind it less if that extra bit of logic were there to back it up. I do like that you could lure mobs all to one point just to make trouble, or move mobs away to make grinding easier. It always made a type of conflict with some players that I've always found both interesting and amusing. Does this mean that I won't get killed by a lured mob of spiders and scorpions in the caves now? Cause that would really suck ;-)

That's the plan. Yes, it's hard.

No need now, I can hit skulls now without any assistance :alt-0: . If I am going to ask for help I will ask a bull helmet player cuz mage and banshee archer take a lots of xp. :?

It's not harder, it is just boring and more expensive for archers, and accentuates the importance of getting a banshee bow.

edit: The Reid's inn quest is now much more difficult, maybe a level 90 one.

the graveyard was only supposed to have skeletons really, the rest was meant for the crypts. but now that's on hold for some unannounced unknown reason, so I guess we're screwed.
end of line.

Actually, when I was project leader of the graveyard project, I just said "low level undeads", "mid-level undeads" and "high-level undeads". I never specified which kind of undead exactly.

Actually, the graveyard project was done entirely in public. The main thread can be found here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=6837
