I'd get rid of the eye shapes, abs and the nut on the shield in the jungle armor.

The desert armor is a really balanced piece of esthetics.

I like the staff and amulet on the wizard, but I would call it just a wizard (a dark wizard sounds too negative and I have a culture in mind into which that would really fit).

The weapon shapes and details are nice looking so I hope they inspire pixel artists into pixellating them eventually (be patient on this one, the more stuff you produce, the more likely it is for people to pixellate them, a hefty arsenal of available concept art will most likely attract new pixel artists).

That is starting to look really nice.
Once we have the world backstory complete and locked, how would you feel about doing a cartoon based on the script?

im not going to do the interior of the temple, but i think it would look good with just a pillar or a sand pile in certain places but i did a few pieces of terrain you could use. here they are-
