ManaPlus mods

Post by 4144 »

Today released ManaPlus version (1.4.1.18) support mods.

What is mod? Mod allow add/change different objects in client data.
Current mods for The Mana World include "pets" and "ascii" mod.
Pets add pets into some items.
Ascii change maps inside houses into some ascii art (by o11c)

Any mods can be enabled/disabled from mods tab in settings. After need change server or restart client.

What other mods should be added?

I hope to see a mod that makes the woodland tileset graphics a bit less vibrant, playing on a ips panel the green is nearly neon and my eyes get tired looking at it for too long. The same graphics look good on my netbook, but when playing from my main rig it is quite punishing for the eyes.

I used to make my own low saturation version of this but actually adding it as a mod to the client would make it even easier when new content is added so i don't have to copy paste stuff by hand.

Note that I cannot support the ASCII mod; the main maps change in small ways so you're likely to get bad collision if nothing else.

The Pumpkin Helmet should not work here, M+ Version 1.4.18(ubuntu-Repo on Debian Test.).
Is there any "HowTo" or Reference for developing such Mods? I've found nothing in that way(I think its not indexed yet in the searchmachines(Ixquick, DuckDuck and so))

BTW but i love my Yeti if i equip the Mask, and the ASCII-Mod for buildings is pretty nice,
but i think there is more potential for things like a desk. :-)

Wow... I can't believe this post is so barren. I thought for sure there would be pages on pages. What I was first looking for is a list of what does what, but if not posted, I guess that's even better.
My opinion on mods has been hard to form because I love it sometimes and find it annoying at others... so I was wondering if there is a way to give the player the option of choosing whether a mod would be active or not so that some are visible and others are not (player or character based). Even better if a toggle button for that feature were added. I wonder if that is even possible though... ?

Ledmitz = Ardits = KillerBee = Mystic = Mystical_Servant = Tipsy Skeleton = BoomBoom = Cloak

No, per chat it not works. It works only per server.
Can enable/disable any mod and restart client.
