[DIS] Halloween event
Is it better to focus on the next release development or should we do a little break with this event?
Will there be players?

I meant, 30 october. >.>WildX wrote:I'm really not sure about this. It could be good to remind people that Evol exists, but at the same time maybe this isn't the best moment to do that, as the game is still not ready to actually be played. Maybe the best thing is to wait. The next time we bring attention to Evol it'll be when people can stay and play indefinitely, they've seen enough demos over the last couple of years.Still waiting on 4144 to invent a time machine.Reid wrote:(Answer before the 30september)

Re: [DIS] Halloween event
You can do an event which requires no scripting.Reid wrote:Should we do an halloween event? Last year we made one in one day of full development, shouldn't be hard to do something like this this year, but is it worth it?

Code: Select all
Example: spawn a thousand Pious, disguize a GM/victim as one and let the players find it.
Ofcourse not.Reid wrote: Will there be players? :)
Wisdom and knowledge are both treasures in life.
While knowledge allows us to do great deeds,
it is wisdom which helps us to use it responsible.

Useless event that brings attention to Evol only to let down everyone. It's better to do nothing.Elvano wrote:You can do an event which requires no scripting.Reid wrote:Should we do an halloween event? Re: [DIS] Halloween event
What the heck are you talking about? Events are there to have fun, and I for one would have fun with it. So it's far from useless. It's even less boring than the regular "bring me this item" and repeat it over and over without constantly repeating the exact same patern. There are plenty of theme fitting games to think of that require no scripting whatsoever, bonus: you have an interaction with the players.WildX wrote: Useless event that brings attention to Evol only to let down everyone. Why did we do that?Reid wrote:we removed the pumpkins monsters from our db

Re: [DIS] Halloween event
We did the halloween event while we were working on the beta2 release. But we didn't use the beta2 work to do it, we worked on top of the beta1 (the version which was available online) and we added our monsters and items.Elvano wrote:Why did we do that?Reid wrote:we removed the pumpkins monsters from our db
Items wasn't much a problem as we didn't start to add those on the beta2's db, but we already added the beta2's monsters in their db and merging would give us problems.
And the stats were rushed, as we did this event in one day.
