I think here are typos and her dialogues should be:
"Theater" (in the choices)
"They are currently rehearsing for their next show."
"Theatre" is the English spelling. It's not a typo.
There are instances of English spelling because most devs have historically been from Europe. Most American English has been used as a convention due the the claim by Americans that they own the internet and are the default culture. I don't think there's a current official guideline on that. I was told to use American English when writing for TMW and simply refused, but some might just follow the request. Weight measures use grams and kilograms, so if we go by international standards "Theatre" would be correct.
