Harrassment in the Cave

Post by Leelan »

Sadly, this is the first time I deem it nessecary to actually report someone from Mana World. The situation simply started out in me in the red slime/black scorpion cave. I had killed a slime in a mob, in which the slime had dropped two items; boots and miner's cap. The mob than killed me in which I was sent back to the village as another slime ate the items. I went back to the cave where the character named "Shugo" was at, in which both me and him shot at a slime. This slime, dropped the same items it had gobbled up early so I went to pick the items up (only the miner's cap as the boots were located near the NPC's foot, scorpions were there so I could not get them). Immediatly Shugo begans to harrass me on what he thinks is "rightfully" his...Unfortunately I did not manage to take any screen-shots of my death with the items on the floor, but I did however take screen-shots of the following harrassment of Shugo...

This is how the situation started from Shugo...

I was having a conversation with a friend about Shugo's actions until Shugo shows up in the corner of the screen...

I repeat what Shugo has said to me in response to the link above
http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r12/ ... hot_12.png
Image
In which I even offer to give the miner's hat to Shugo in exchange for his apology of harrassment...

From his response of the link above, I than question Shugo about the harrassment if he didn't "care" for the hat.

Here Shugo vibrantly claims he is not "harrassing" me yet is, again.

This is the final thing Shugo says as I was idle before leaving...

The reason why I have posted this was not because of the hat itself, but because of the harrassment that immediatly followed afterwards. Sadly, I have wasted atleast 15 minutes uploading pictures of the conversation which took place, which I find to be truly unessecary but seem that this report had to happen. I would have rather liked and would have given the hat to Shugo and settle the subject, but instead he rejected and continued harrassing me despite of any reasoning whatsoever. :? I have seen a topic about a profanity filter idea, and from what has happened I think that would be more than a good idea...and maybe even a harrassment forum where people can put topics like this in, instead of in other forums where they really don't fit. It's not because of Mana World, it's unfortunately due to the new players who are streaming in who think that they can do/act anyway they want...

All I have underestood is that two guys got into argument about some items...it really isn't worth it. It is a testing release, all items will be wiped in the near future, no need to argue.

Regards.

True, there really is no need to argue over items like that manner...unfortunately there are some players who'll do it just to do to be insultive. I don't know if policies will be added in the future to lower/prevent this type of thing from happening (auto-pick up item, filter, ignore feature?) once MA begans to advance more...most MMORPG's I have seen so far have some sort of "ignore" feature to combat against unwanted behavior as this to make the game enjoyable without having "thorny" players who tend to take away the vaule of "fun-time" of the game and turn it more into a bramble. On the other hand, please keep up the good work on MA :)

Maybe the items were eaten by the first slime you killed and therefor weren't rightfully yours? :)

I'm not sure if Shugo is actually going to post on the forums or not...but as for the slime (the second one that gobbled it up before I died) both me and him attacked it at the same time. This slime barfed up the same ol items from the other slime I killed, however it could be possible that this could be a different slime, but I find it to be unlikely as the second slime were generally located near the area of the npc like the first. I did however offer the hat (I did not get the boots) to Shugo in exchange for an apology for his "friendly-talk", but he seemed more interested in name-calling instead. The items, atleast to me really don't matter in the situation, I just feel though that Shugo can possibly "get-away" with his actions towards me as a player on the game (I don't think anyone wants to be called a F***, housewife, etc). Infact in one of the links he said that he didn't actually care about the items at all. From what he has said it seems to me he was more interested in using profanity and "do anything I please" rather than the actual items themselves. Is there any suggestions what I could do in this situation, if possibly Shugo tries to harrass me again?

In all online games there are kiddos like that. Frustrating yet true. You'll get used to ignoring them. :)

Well if there's no rules about this than i'll handle it as best as possible, simple ignore or pvp will solve it.

Now, I am become a PvP'er, the destroyer of game worlds.

Pretty much sums up what I think of PvP as a problem solver.

Bounty And PVP in other games

Post by cblade »

PVP and Bounties

It would be nice if we had a bounty system in the mana world similiar to one I saw tested in another game.

Here's how it works:

Phase 1: The Heat Goes On
Once someone does something really awful you obtain the conversation and video log by hitting the PRN key at the very beginning of the offence. and PRN key to end the log. Once uploaded to the main system, you can then release the name of the offending charicter.

Phase 2: Objectivary Judgement
Once the name is released and everything is uploaded people can gather at judgement hall, review the offence, and make a choice as to whether or not the offender is at fault using the dialog given, the voting session would last only one day. In addition both players have to pay 1,000 gold as court fees.

Phase 3: Guilty as Charged, Or Not
If found guilty, the responding player may sacrifice anywhere from 2,500 to 500,000 gold (as Taxes). and anyone who kills that player in PVP gains 10x the amount of gold given at the kill of the player. This amount is deducted from the offender's gold total. If the offender does not have suffent gold, they may loot thier body for upto 3+(1 for every 10,000 gold they are short) in items. These items not only can be taken from inventory, but equipped items as well.

If found innocent, the bounty does not proceed and the charges dismissed.

Phase 4: The End of the Bounty
After suffient penalty, depending on the severity of the charge, the bounty ends.

There are five levels of severity:

CLASS F:
2,500 to 10,000 Gold Paid.
5 Kills or 3 Days, which ever comes first.

CLASS E:
10,000 - 30,000 Gold Paid
10 Kills or 5 Days, which ever comes first.

CLASS D:
30,000 - 60,000 Gold Paid
One week of unlimited kills.

CLASS C:
60,000 - 100,000 Gold Paid
Three weeks of unlimited kills.

CLASS B:
100,000 - 250,000 Gold Paid
7 Weeks of unlimited kills.

CLASS A:
250,000+ gold paid
13 Weeks of unlimited kills.

My mistake

Post by cblade »

There is actually 7 levels

There's also an CLASS S severity as well

but it's for those who pay 500,000+ gold as taxes.

Class S severity pretty much means for Six Months, there is an unlimited number of kills against you. In addition every time you get killed, you loose 1/10 of your total experience which can and often does result in the loss of levels.

I get the feeling there are some readers here that took me seriously about what is written above. Myself, I thought it was pretty obvious I was being sarcastic and joking.

Leelan, I miss the gals!!
