How do I join a clan?

I was wondering how I go about joining a clan or starting my own, I thought I read somewhere that there was a clan that helps lower level players find their way. Is that clan still in existence?

There is no technical ingame support for clans, guilds or however you want to call them. But that doesn't mean that you can't pretend there is. To form a clan you just ask your ingame friends to form a guild, decide on a name and do events with each other from time to time. It would also be a good idea to establish some form of offgame communication platform like a forum or an IRC channel, because the ingame communication possibilities are quite limited.
