[FND]forest tileset
Re: forest tileset
Do you have the tile? I believe we can work together to change the direction. It shouldn't be too difficult. However, I have no experience with making complex object tileable. Is that a easy way to do so in GIMP? Something like image warp/displace?
Re: forest tileset
I don’t know of any quick fix (I’m not that experienced with Gimp)
The best way I’ve found is to use the Tiled Program to find imperfections, taking a screenshot and then fixing the imperfections in gimp (repeat as necessary)
Believe it or not this is the current ground tileset (we can always take out the redundant tiles later)

I don't know how to use Tiled, and using two programs switching back and forth would be very time consuming and unproductive.
Does anyone know how Tiled load tiles? How does it tile the tile and what are the dimensions? I am sure what can be done in Tiled can be done in GIMP.

Re: forest tileset
Tiled takes a graphic and chops it into tiles of 32x32 pixels.
I made the experience that using Tiled to build little test maps is the best way to find out what tiles are missing and where tiles don't work together properly. You can of course put the tiles together using GIMP, but using Tiled is much more comfortable.

You might have heard a certain rumor about me. This rumor is completely false. You might also have heard the other rumor about me. This rumor is 100% accurate.

I see. Thanks. I personally prefer GIMP because I can zoom, preview on-the-fly, use guide-lines etc...Crush wrote:Tiled takes a graphic and chops it into tiles of 32x32 pixels.

Our future forests are becoming quite picturesque, thanks to your combined efforts. Based on the progression of demo images for this tileset, it's gradually becoming easier for me to imagine the change from forest to jungle.. and even to swamp. Simply put, I think this tileset is shaping up to be the new standard in quality for the rest of the world's graphics.. I think a lot of the others would agree with that opinion.
Re: forest tileset
Definitely. That is an incredibly beautiful tileset and I think all our tiles should be that good or better.dabe wrote:Our future forests are becoming quite picturesque, thanks to your combined efforts. From those alternatives, I'd go for better.Pauan wrote:Definitely. That is an incredibly beautiful tileset and I think all our tiles should be that good or better.
Anyway we're finally starting to be able to take some steps in that direction. Not bad. Not bad at all.
This message used to be meaningful.

It’s a bunch of cup holders just like the one on top of the bush >< … The Mana World needs cup holders, doesn’t it?
(But yes I’ll fix it)
