Skill Points

Now I'm pretty new to TMW, it's been at most 3 days I've played.

The one thing that has me stumped... is the use of skill points...

Can someone explain to me just exactly what skill points do?

The skill points enable you to do specific things, like emote or sit. Only skill levels 1 to 3 are used at the moment.
