Perfect Stats?
I'm considering resetting my stats. What would you say is the perfect ratio to distribute them at?

Melee or ranged? By the way, for the foreseeable future, stats resets will be ultra cheap.feline monstrosity wrote:I'm considering resetting my stats. What would you say is the perfect ratio to distribute them at?

for me at least the dex you need to hit the monster that are in area you are playing-exping
vit at least to be able to hold 2-3-4 monster at same time hitting you 1 dmg
str as necessary to be able to kill them with as less hit's as possible but not spent much so you can not raise other stat's
luck i think arround 11 or 15 is good to avoid critical hit ( but take and a second opinion i am not sure about luck since i still have 5 )
as for agi the more the faster you hit and avoid some hit so put if have any spare points

Re: Perfect Stats?
When I attack Jacko he is near impossible to hit other than criticals, even if you max out at 99 dex, so I left dex at around the 50-60 mark (so that you can hit other monsters), and up luck and agi stats in its place, mostly luck, for the criticals it takes to kill them and the frequency for which attacks are made.
For Vit, I left it at 55, which was enough for me to receive 1 damage from all monsters except jacko (in the 1 to 10 range, but there is only 1 of him.
)
I'm not too concerned about strength, though upon reflection I should perhaps have put a bit more into strength (currently at 23)

Well, I'm level 48 and currently levelling off red slimes, black scorpions and skulls in a party.

Re: Perfect Stats?
I'm still going to be old fashioned about RO melee tanks and going to say that primarily agi/vit for defence and hit evasion and with a nice side bonus of a high attack speed, which covers for the lack of damage per hit. You can get the damage high enough for the build to work from the equipment. I'm not aware about how much dex you actually need in our game to hit the hardest stuff, so this could be the problem of the build.
An alternative melee build which I'd like to play, would be agi/luk. You basically hit as fast as possible and crit every time. You don't get hit easy (luk also adds to the chance of a lucky dodge besides ramping up the critical hit rate), but when you do get hit, you get hurt.
Then the third option would be just str/dex for high damage per hit.
For archers it's simple: full agi/dex, if anything left over: luk.
In general dex is probably the most important stat, because without it you cannot hit anything. In essence this thread is about how much dex is the optimal amount for melee characters in TMW. For archers you need maximum dex anyway for damage.
So what is the highest agi any (or the optimal for exp grinding) monster has and what is the resulting required dex for a 95% hit probability? (95% is the highest probability in RO.)
Additionally what is the highest dex any (or the optimal) monster has and what is the resulting required agi for a 95% dodge probability?
Finally, if 99 agi does not produce a 95% dodge probability, what is the required luk to cover for that?
Once these facts are known, the optimization game with the rest of the points can begin. It's all about compromise.

i agree with rotonen in this there is no perfect stat all depend on how you like to play the game (the style you play hit and run or stay and tank or something between them)

Re: Perfect Stats?
I find ~130 accuracy to be sufficient if you don't mind an occasional miss.
Luck and agility (for me) tend to make up for any misses with a higher critical chance and (slightly) higher rate of attack

feline monstrosity wrote:OK then, about how much dex do I need for my level?
plz provide the area you play or the monster you fight
i ask because for red slimes-black scorpions my 72 level warrior with 63 dex never miss them but if i try to kill a snakes then i have many misses (75-80 dex is need for snakes not to miss many times)
Re: Perfect Stats?
for luck 99 you get 99*(0.2%) chance for critical hit = 19.8% chance for critical hitAn alternative melee build which I'd like to play, would be agi/luk. You basically hit as fast as possible and crit every time. You don't get hit easy (luk also adds to the chance of a lucky dodge besides ramping up the critical hit rate), but when you do get hit, you get hurt.
So that's hardly critical every time, but 1 out of 5 then? You can get some more with dex, since each dex point now also gives another 0.15%, but then you'll have to sacrifice your agility, and be way to easy to kill. Btw for two 99 stats you need 1240 stat points, that's somewhere lvl 90 or something.
here's soem suggestions on how to level your character:
