Bem, feche-o. >: O você disse o " Somente você fala o inglês, fechou o up"
Re: Talking English In Public Areas!
Just because only one person in a certain spot is speaking English doesn't mean it isn't a public place..
The GM's have said anywhere someone else can see you, you have to speak English.

Re: Talking English In Public Areas!
Dami you little annoying guy!
And what about the items you stole from us!!!!
You were sticking your nose in our conversation weren’t you?
And you seemed pretty amused!
So you were understanding the talk!
Besides I told you no one was speaking to or about you!
So go now and play with your dolls!

You're annoying, :<, and it really isn't stealing since you didn't take the items... if you wanted them you would of taken them, I've heard the words "Reported" "ban" "damis" a few times, so bugger off. And I wasn't understanding, I found a translator today... Go play with your toilet brush.

sorry for late reply.Dyna wrote:Actually 'public' areas are the towns and any place there are a large group of people gathering...
i agree with Dyna.
probably large group means morre than 10 people.
its not fighting groups and just talking with a few persons groups....i think
so, sea slime area is not a public.
who was...
Re: Talking English In Public Areas!
I believe that this is kinda a stupid thread. If you don't like people talking in other language, just don't listen. As a in public, it mostly always means cities where people trade, or similars. Not training spots.

Just chiming in my .02gp -
Quite often, a group of non-anglo players show up and speak to eachother so prolifically that they disrupt a previously in-progress english conversation. At times, they are quite obviously non-constructively commenting on the conversation in their native tongue, or even directly poking fun at other players.
When asked to go elsewhere or speak English so everyone can understand, these groups more often than not start hurling insults, or debating the definition of public. I find this sort of behavior intolerably rude. I do not go around interrupting conversations in other languages in this manner, it would be nice if others did not as well.
This is when rule #5 should be enforced.
Should it be rigidly enforced? Let me ask you this: Is it reasonable to expect a 10 year old Brazilian child to know English? My education and life experience is way beyond that and I do not know Portuguese. Please try to use some judgment people, and put yourself in another's shoes.

Re: Talking English In Public Areas!
1. Speak English in the cities.
If you're in seldomly visited areas of a city or inside a building with nobody nearby, you may speak whatever language you like.
2. Speak English when in groups of two or more people of which at least one person doesn't know your language.
If the person doesn't mind, speak your language. But make sure they don't mind!
3. Start speaking English / whispering if in a conversation outside of the city and in areas as described in 1. when someone who doesn't know your language comes into sight and stays there for more than 10 seconds. Unless that person doesn't mind - make sure he/she doesn't!

Re: Talking English In Public Areas!
That should make things clearer..
So you should speak english anywhere there is someone who doesn't understand your language.. unless they don't mind.

Re: Talking English In Public Areas!
Like at Sea Slimes, there was a big group of people, I don't understand Portuguese at all, it takes about 10 minutes to translate a long sentence..
Re: Talking English In Public Areas!
So if you mind just ask them to speak English and all should be well.. in a perfect world.
