GM Review Board

I'm starting a player group as of tonight and all players are invited to participate. I am encouraging players to take screenshots of GMs when they tell people what to do. GMs are interpreters of previously existing rules and enforce those rules based on prior standards. They can't ride roughshod on players, they are there to assist players.

Because GMs have abused their forum moderation powers by locking threads still under investigation of their own abuses in the Court House, this review board will operate both here in these forums and once we reach a resolution, we will post our assessments of their actions and make suggestions to developers. I'd prefer to spend less time on this project, but everytime I see GMs saying things to players on how they want people to follow rules, they use absolutist and curt language as if the player is less important than the rules they enforce.

Pretty much, I am greatly concerned with how the GMs approach players when they want to see them follow rules. There aren't attempts at politeness, there aren't attempts to be reasonable when I see them talking down to players they have judged as an annoyance. This is disconcerting, to say the least. If a GM can't play nice with players, I feel they've gone too far and this board could recommend censure for how they handle players.

In many cases you could have endless debates about wether or not something a player did was wrong. And there is no point in discussing every single rule with every single player. Every rule has its purpose and is reasonable and thought through.

... Therefore and because most people are clever enough to see why it is so, it should be enough to mention the rule to explain why a certain deed was wrong.

We will see Katze. As I said, I'd prefer not to put much time into this player group. Though I've seen examples before, I have nothing to offer the board at this time.
