Re: Fur Clothes and centaur sketch
third leg + two colours to distinguish back from front. the walking pattern is starting to take shape.
now for the hardest part ...

can you slow it down a little so I can see if the walk-cycle is current (remember that four legged animals walk basically on alternating tripod).adamaix wrote:third leg + two colours to distinguish back from front. the walking pattern is starting to take shape.

Re: Fur Clothes and centaur sketch
There is a few tricks i discovered while doing this:Len wrote: can you slow it down a little so I can see if the walk-cycle is current (remember that four legged animals walk basically on alternating tripod).
1.) the left side works in tandem, as does the right side, so its better to draw them first.
2.) the front leg lifts up slightly before the back leg.
3.) as the the leg lifts from the ground to move forward, it moves in a halfcircle from the ground.
4.) to maintain the depth, the two legs furthest from you should move in a halfcircle where the leg meets the body, the two legs closest to you should remain static, but further up the flank should indicate movement. this gives it the illusion of depth.
Re: Fur Clothes and centaur sketch
Its looking great adamaix, thanks for your work!
I was trying to apply your legs animation on the last sketch.

sketch PNG = http://pateame.googlepages.com/oops7.png
Its much more better on front. Still dont add the color details until finish it all.
One leg more and the animation will be definitively more fluid

Since you applied it, i've noticed that my legs are not proportionate to the body. i will have to increase the size and make it more "horse-like". the back leg needs some work, its kicking out too far like a grasshopper.

Re: Fur Clothes and centaur sketch
Pateme, dont apply these yet. I feel there's still alot that could be done to this especially the back legs. I feel its too heavily influenced on the deer reference. I might actually recycle this pair of legs for a deer :p
I've drawn 60 legs today, its a bit tiring, but fun nevertheless.

Re: Fur Clothes and centaur sketch
Even better, gratz adamaix.
I wanted to play with your new leg animations to can synchronize it with the arms and upper part movement.
Also delete the high kick on both back legs to make it seem more solid like a horse.
Walking:

Sketch: http://pateame.googlepages.com/fixas3.png
Walk + Attack: http://pateame.googlepages.com/jQOQ3w1241926713.gif
Its not a problem to fix it again when you got a new animation, more fun for us
I will try to add details on current legs and rear thigh to dissapear the scars of last surgery.

Re: Fur Clothes and centaur sketch
There´s some fixes... new face with details, repainted legs and a simple tail.
I will take some rest before start again on front view to avoid more pony nightmares.

The hair should move a bit, too - IMHO
Re: Fur Clothes and centaur sketch
What hair? The stuff on top of the head is two horns.Terwarf wrote:The hair should move a bit, too - IMHO

Re: Fur Clothes and centaur sketch
Im agree with idea of move head and horns a little while centaur is walking.
Also I fix the attack animation frames, and add a sketch of the right view walking and attacking and redo of down view.

Re: Fur Clothes and centaur sketch
The walk animation is OK, but the attack animation needs some "spice". How about more full body movement and maybe some speedlines?
