That post from doorsman has been up for a LONG time. I like to read the bans in here from time to time to make sure that people who I am friends with haven't had a brain fart and gotten themselves banned. (so far, not many have) But I would like to reiterate this statement about spam bans being for ONLY ONE HOUR! Why do you people insist on creating an entirely new thread when this happens. Read the stickies, that's why they're there! That's also why it says on the title of the sticky: "Banned? Read this first." It would save you lots of hassle.doorsman wrote:We have seen many players asking questions like "I was just trying to trade a friend and I got banned. Why ? Can you unban me please?"
The answers the those questions are : 1) You got banned by the server itself because it interpreted your actions as spam. That include text spam (chat), trading spam (trading another player at repetition regardless of if that player is having his trades blocked) and also magic spam (casting the same spell too many times in a short period of time). 2) We won't unban a player who got server ban for spam, basically because we have no way to know what exactly happened. And in any case, those bans are for a short duration, so if you are getting banned, just be patient and wait for the ban's duration to expire.
Thank you for your comprehension and cooperation.
And stop asking them to unban spam bans. They aren't going to do it, it isn't worth their time, and usually the ban will be over with by the time they read the request, anyway. IT'S ONLY FOR AN HOUR! If you can't find something better to do for one hour then you have issues and need intervention. Go make a sandwich. Go check your email. Read a book (what is this...book... you speak of?). Quit freaking out. It's not the end of the world.
I hope maybe some of you have read this here, since you obviously didn't read it (nor will you) in the court house forum.
Thanks for your time
