For what? Using rain? Upset because there was some kind of event going on at the Jacko's and I missed out on the rest of it because of this. And even if there wasn't anything going on this isn't what a GM should be doing!

 Someone will pay!

(Atleast warp me back to town, i could have gotten lost or worse eaten out here..)
Please to understand, the game rules clearly stated a guideline which and what not to do to achieve a fair result and whatever else needs be the rules are made to control.
This event was made possible by Delasia, which was fun for those who attend and menace for those who have laggs and needed to enjoy the outcome. However many couldn't enjoy such cause because of lagging. Delasia has made this event and her rule also towards this event "No Rain spell". Just to make things look worse, why trunks harden his ears and not obey such a simple rule. Now it seems like Delasia is the troublemaker here because Trunks failed to obey. This is a painful state for her and she is really did a nice attempt to solve the problem what others are facing.

Why should so many suffer because of one person failed to obey?
Trunks knows better and its a shame of what he did.

Platyna's seems bios towards Delasia to speak in such tone with evil desire. Delasia has her post to perfect, an Platyna has her relationship to perfect with her.
This isn't a perfect world , neither is TMW, there are still stakes need solution.
I admire the time Delasia put in this game just to have things ok, and there are who some wishes to see her fail. Just to have a laugh isn't a good reason. Its her right to perfect her post just as you have right to repent.
No one sees the good she has done, ony the faults. Not even to conclude why she has done such before bringing harsh judgement.
i have only one thing left to say.
"the same judgement you meet is comming back to you..."

As previously stated in NUMEROUS posts.
You were asked by several players to stop with the rain it was causing to much lag.

You were asked by me to stop.

Your response......I was "asked" not "told" I will do what I want.

Grow up.

Asked? More like command.
It's like your saying "If you don't do what I say then you'll suffer.".

If rain is such a problem it should be fixed/removed. If it is a regular command, it should be allowable. It takes a lot of work to be able to just use rain, then we're told to stop using it? There are a number of things that cause lag, including too many people at events, and nobody gets warped to the great plains for it.

Sit spam was fixed, and it was an issue due to a patch and it was fixed. Why not fix something that is from the main version of TMW?

If i were being a bully, I had far greater means to use. I removed the person making the rain, and guess what........THE LAG STOPPED.

He was not banned, he was not kicked, He was warped to a nice place.

Next time, maybe we should just turn the PVP on the player, and let the players deal with the trouble. Sound reasonable.

They said it's going to be fixed:
Crush wrote:We are currently thinking about redesigning the rain spell to lower its abuse potential.
I still think that disabling magic effects when "disable effects" is active would be also something good to have. Even if the rain spell was fixed, I'm sure that when many people cast multiple spells in the same screen it will be quite laggy (think of future guild wars). For this kind of situations a toggleable option would come very handy.

DonCBen wrote:There are a number of things that cause lag, including too many people at events, and nobody gets warped to the great plains for it.
But DonCBen, there're always situations where there's no fix or the fix is in the making (like currently), and in some of these situations warping 1 single person will solve the problem entirely. I think that this kind of situations are worth the help of a moderator to improve the game experience for the sake of all the other players, that's why we need moderators that are humans and not programs, they can difference 1 person lagging when there's no fix and it's ignoring the others from a technical lag caused by a crowd of people or from a lag that is only due to the other people not using "disable effects".
There are different situations that require different approaches.

There is a client option to restrict particle count.

A pokemon that is on this forum like 2 months became a GM and is yapping, and teaching me what I am supposed to do. I think those guys knows that Bjorn barely reads it so they are save, since their idiocy will go unnoticed by the only person who could bring some order to here.

There is a check in that particular spell script to stop it from being properly casted when another active rain spell is nearby:
http://gitorious.org/tmw-eathena-data/mainline/blobs/raw/master/conf/magic.conf.template wrote:

Code: Select all

                FOREACH SPELL s IN rbox(location(caster), MAX_RAIN_SPELL_RADIUS + 1) DO
                                IF (s <> self_invocation) && (name_of(s) = "rain")
                                THEN (message (caster, "A nearby raincloud absorbs your magic.");
                                      ABORT;)
The main problem here is that in lag conditions, effects sent by the server can be queued, so an effect that otherwise may peak at hundreds of particles can suddenly jump to thousands of particles at once, in addition to the client having to handle the creation of the fake NPCs to deliver the effect.

As Crush mentioned, we've discussed whether the visual consistency that this provides is enough to offset the potential damage (lag? abuse?) that this spell can be used for currently. The consensus seems to be that it isn't, and so both the spell and particle effect are likely to be modified in the near future.

From his wiki user page:

Code: Select all

E-mail: bjorn@lindeijer.nl
Jabber: b.lindeijer@gmail.com
SourceForge: b_lindeijer
IRC: thorbjorn
gitorious: bjorn
In game: Purple
  • former Manasource Programmer
  • former TMW Pixel artist
  • NOT a game master

Please do not send me any inquiries regarding player accounts on TMW.

You might have heard a certain rumor about me. This rumor is completely false. You might also have heard the other rumor about me. This rumor is 100% accurate.

Gouki, you need to get your facts straight before you post nonesense.
Look at the GM logs. I did not warp Sussie anywhere, she disconnected.

And my comment to her was I could get her to a barber........It was an offer to escort her to the nearest barber.

Please confirm your accusations before throwing the mud.

Cheers

Last I checked you didnt regulate the IRC Freenode, and that was my response after you referred to me as ........oh ya..lol "A pokemon hooker with a big mouth...."

At least my comments are based on reality and not on a cartoon fantasy.
