Magic and levelling
Re: Magic and levelling
@Jaxad: Oh, I was talking about level xp. I know that. And maybe that's the problem. The persons were injured, but I'm not sure if they actually killed something before they got hurt.
@Dyna: I have a setzer (I made it myself after I worked my way to lvl 60+ and gathered my own resources for it). I have jeans chaps, helmets and everything. I also have a bow and I also have perfect magic because I liked all segments of this game and I did all possible quests. I can be any class I chose to be at some moment because I have everything I need. Is it OK for people to insult me if I worked my ass off enough to afford spending the ores I needed to cast lightning for a few days? This was hard work, not selling some hat I just happened to have laying somewhere because I happened to stumble upon this game a little earlier than other people. Other people chose to become richer. Do I have the right to chose to get some XP for my work?

Um...we did not design it to be that way. We're trying to balance the 3 play styles. As fate said, once magic level 3 is available, we'll start adding magic defense to monsters. We already have plans for a monster that can't be killed with magic (balanced by an otherwise identical monster that can only be killed with magic).Dallas wrote:Jax: Warriors need to stfu and so do archers, we made magic this way because Mages are suppose to be at the top of the class, followed by the other two.

OMG, everybody is a joker these days.
Re: Magic and levelling
Don't you have homework to do?
Re: Magic and levelling
Oh, no, I'm not allowed. You win, you're too boring. I quit.
Re: Magic and levelling
*yawn* Go out and play. You admitted you are a kid and you answered like a kid. I can't fight you any more, I'm not a child abuser.
Go away.
Go away.
Re: Magic and levelling
The lightning is strong. If you will cast it for a whole day on skulls, you will level up like a rocket."The lightning is too strong, other players can't level"
But really you can't do this and XP gain is slow. The "only" problem is that there is HUGE deficit of IRON ORE in game. Iron ore is a quite rare drop. So even small lightning show means someone either dodged a HUNDREDS of yellow slimes literally for hours to get this ore or spent a decent amount of moneys buying iron ore.
Both earning moneys and killing slimes requires many efforts during which you will have bad experience growth rate. Furthermore, there is no "free" war spells at all. Even weak flare magic needs (quite rare) ash, and lightning requires rare iron ore. Not to mention that mage lacks defence (armour weakens magic too much or makes it impossible) while current in-game controls for mage are very tricky and error-prone (so it looks like mages are most killed players in game). Warriors on other hand have very nice defence and their attacks costs them NOTHING. They do not have to dodge tons of yellow slimes for HOURS or buy ore for awful amounts of money. Furthermore, warrior needs ore only up to some point, mage needs it ALWAYS and that's makes large difference (restricting lightning usage to a few bolts per day).
After all, maybe those who thinks mage's life is too easy and they can level up too fast should just reset points and try to play as mage? Ideally, they should just create new char, try to start as mage as early as possible and try to level up (good luck with this).
As for me, I can see exactly opposite scenario - it's easier to level up as warrior and then reset and become mage. Yes, that's a bit weird

Actually, your problem is that you can see ALL mages in game casting lightnings. Just because it makes sense to cast these VERY EXPENSIVE lightnings only in very few places like cave with skulls. So all mages are going to same places to discharge their bolts. So it looks like lightning is frequent and all-powerful. However, does someone bothered to count how many lightnings per day (week, month) can cast each mage in average and how this relates to possible XP gains for warriors of same level within same time frame?
Re: Magic and levelling
t3stsr, u can get pile of ash easy by fire goblins out side of tulmisher and mauve is also easy to get (if u know the right spot). For iron ore it would be a hard time to fight all those slimes, but u can fight bats in the bat cave and make a ton of money fast if u have the right stats. I have made 500k on bats in 10 hours and 700k in 12 hours and I know because i've done it when i was lvl 50 and i saw alot of mages fighting bats. With that 700k u could buy 500 ore, and with 99 intel u can make 5 iron powder with each ore. If u did that with 500 ore that would come to 2500 iron powder and each powder u can hit 6 times.
So actually mages can get a lot of exp with skulls, and if ther not high enough lvld to do the bats and lighting they can just turn into warrior and train first and then turn into mage later. So mages should not really complain so much, plus with lighting and flar they can hit every time while warriors miss alot of the time.

Re: Magic and levelling
Where are you paying 1400 ea for Iron ore (700k / 500). You aren't. Most people I know (myself including) sell Ore at 10k ea as a standard practice (and sell quantities of 100-150 at a time). Even if you find a newb selling for 3-5k, or someone who doesn't care, you aren't going to find that at bulk.verdo wrote:t3stsr, u can get pile of ash easy by fire goblins out side of tulmisher and mauve is also easy to get (if u know the right spot).
