Yes, Booth, you are probably right. If I could split the topic I would now...but...impossible.

It happens that a character is sitting in town, but the human being behind it is afk. The same thing can happen in a GM's case. I have missed several spammers because I was afk. That is only selectiveness by accident. You can also browse through all the logs and the court house forum to see if you find some cases of people who were banned for spamming apart from you.

If we're speaking in-game spam... Game rule #3: No spamming/flooding (including trade spam).

However, someone suggested a Sales or Trade tab, similar to the Party tab in the chat box where offers and requests could be placed.

That would be a possible option. It has been discussed before, but it seems that technological solutions to in-game problems are the way to beat frequent offences (such as drops in town, drop protection, etc.)

spam is annoying, that is why it shouldn't be. except for spam marked topics.

and btw, you said that Booth's candy topic is spam, which it isn't... it's in offtopic and it is for a purpose, which is to investigate the people's fav candy if you would answer in that topic with, for example, "my dog is green", that would be spam

i was temporarily banned by doulos for spamming mean while he asked me to stop when i was buying iron and so i slowed down ask every few minutes so that when new people came in they could know i was buying iron ores i clearly stated that i was just posting it for people that came into the town that i was buying and he kept saying don't spam and even when i change the price of the iron i was buying he was like don't spam and then i got temperaly banned i think hes on a power trip cuz there was clearly a good minute or more in between my announcements in the rules where it says no spamming including trade spamming it should say within an allotted time because how are you going to buy stuff if new people come into the town and you cant to by from them unless you chase them all down and wait for them go go into a building or go out of the town....

No, that is not spam but it is irritating which is a form of spam. If I was selling Iron Ore and you kept saying it over and over even if there was a minute between I would never sell you ore.

For one, this, because you have Novice dose not make you look any better than a peon, i look at the top of the rank list and automatically thank spam (avoid top rankers)

For two, as this forum is for contribution, not random blabbering.

ok well explain this then i was on not to long ago and i seen buddy spamming that he wants to buy cobalt herbs mean while doulos sittin right there does nothing at all about it doesnt say anything about spamming... so am i the only one thats not aloud to spam when doulos is around or what....? is this a selective thing?

Well Doulos likes to pretend he is a police officer and show off he has power and says he is "off duty" sometimes

Why is spam so bad? Apart from it being annoying, what harm does it do. Yes, in game it is harmful but on a forum? Who cares. I try not to spam but I don't think it matters so much.

Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooh, sorry, I voted no cause I thought you meant in-game. I think that in-game spamming should be against the rules because it makes people lag. But in the forum-with no disrespect-I don't see why spam is bad. I do think though, that if everyone spammed, No-one would bother going on the forum because there are no serious statements, also, if you do a post, you would be pretty P'd off if every reply you got was spam. So to be honest with you, I really don't know whether or not I think spam should be ignored.
