Start my own Mana World

Hy!

I'm a young student from Romania. I'm reading this forum for a few days and I have a question:
How in the world can I make my won mmorpg using the mana world platform???
I made a game some years back using xtreme worlds but The Mana World is much better!
I have my own server, a domain and some little experience.
I saw that TMW is released under GPL licence. So that means I can use it however I want as long as I don't sell it or say that is made by me.
I managed to download the client but I can't find the server.
Please help me so I can contribute to the project. I'm very good when it comes working with Photoshop and creating graphics.

The GNU General Public License [Full text] [Russian translation] allows you to use, modify and even make money from our software, but when you give it away to someone you have to do so under the same license terms and include the sourcecode.

This means you can theoretically sell copies of our software (or your modificated version of the software), but such a business model is unlikely to be successful on the long run because the GPL says that everyone of your customers has the right to give away copies to anyone for less or even for free.

I tried this morning to install the server under windows OS. I followed the steps but got messed up at step 6 if there is someone who can help me, please!!!

Sure. But remember that all changes you make also have to be released under the GNU GPL. This means everyone who gets a copy has the right to use and change your graphics under the same conditions.

Then you most likely forgot to install the development tools during the cygwin installation (step 3). When you are sure you did please post the error message.
