insulting people

Post by michellembrodeur »

Char name Froby is going around calling me a "Whore" and "Female dog, wolf, fox or otter" and so forth.

This should not be tolerated on anygame.

Please banned this person IP address.

I do not play a game to be insulted by inmature people.

Banning an IP is most of the time not very useful. Unless the person has an static IP, a simple reconnect would solve the problem for him.
I recommend erasing the account, though i'm unable to say if the incident has happened in this way (no offense).

Is there a way in the server to make sure people have misbehaved.
I think this could be useful in the future.

one could make the server scan the chat strings for keywords, and then ban that person for, say, a few hours, after a couple of positives. an immediate and complete ban would be over the top imho, as everyone has a bad hair day from time to time...

Sorry but this was just down right nasty person. Kept following me around and stealing my drops and also attacking my mobs so he wouldn't get hit and get free experience.

Told him to stop and he kept it up. So I wnet around telling people he was a vulcher and then he started up with the insults.

ELven said he was kicked.

A MMORPG-world is just like a real society in some ways.

corks!...

Post by criptos »

But a cork at his mount :)

Only admin or selected players or cops, could do this...

Or maybe you could tell a NPC police about the bad mouth player...

Cork would avoid the player to speak :)

And of course PvP is needed :)

/Mute

Post by AndyG314 »

I think the best solution to this is a /mute command, which would block the particular player's mesages from your chatt box, just like the block on AIM

of course there would need to be a /unmute command as well.

This way you can stop people form bothering you, without requiring a cop/gm with special powers to help.

that really wouldnt stop them from taking items, & fighting monsters for free exp, although its too hard to get exp now unless you took the first hit  , i kinda like the cop deal though, i've had a # of people do the things that were talked about. its messed up really. if players or, gm's are to be cops, there would have to be a way to really show that this person is really doing whatever it is said, plus if a player, (not gm) is made into a cop they would have to log when the "punishment to the crime" i guess you'd call it, to make sure that it was right to do so. it would really be hard to provid info that it even happened. i think maybe, the best fix to this problem, is a combo of both the /mute command & ofcourse /unmute too, & making it possible to get the items after the kill for the one that hits the monster first, or if it is killed by another person after the other dies before killing it/ runs away out of screen, to get the items right the there inventory, instead of them being dropped, ofcourse still allow items to be still dropped by players (some still have problems with the trade function) prolly user error
Just having fun
