Kylee's Farming Service

Post by KyleeMelody »

I had an idea. the idea was to basically offer my self to collect whatever item in bulk for a client for a fee. say someone wants me to get 100 cocoons for a quest, or someone wants a good amount of herbs, they pay me a predetermined, low costing fee, and i do the hunting for them, while they can go off and finish other quests or hang about and chat until i finish (unless its a harder to obtain item, then either via email or message elsewhere by other service, i will notify the client that their items have been harvested and are ready for pickup.)

this seems like a novel idea, however in it i realize there are some possible issues;

1. others may attempt to mime my service and scam people's GP away, while i hope my prices are low enough that it wouldn't be such an issue, but there's still a chance of such things happening.

2. myself currently not of a higher level (currently at time of posting i am level 43) and as such i cannot yet acquire some items some people may want or need. (EX: snake drop items, jacko wouldn't be a good idea, etc)

3. I would only be collecting items that are needed in bulk, such as arrows, cocoons, herbs, etc. meaning i will not go and farm jeans for anyone.

4. the cost system will vary from about 5-6k to 10-12k or higher, depending on the item's value or rarity of drop.

-4.5. also bundles can only be purchased in 5s (meaning 5-10-15-20, etc.) for example, someone wants say, 15 mauve herb. this is not a high costing or rare drop, and are usually readily available, the cost for this would be 3-5k depending upon how soon he or she needs them. or for a more broad example, 100 silk cocoons would be about 10k because of the relatively time consuming endeavor.
--- the bundles are to keep things neat and organized, if someone just says get me a bunch of herbs, and then someone else wants me to get some for them as well a bunch of random numbers get confusing.

also: if people know ahead of time that they will need an item for a quest later on they may leave a message, and can ask me (with correct payment) to go ahead and collect the items, or put a hold on the order. to be revisited when they need them.

let me know what you guys think and i look forward to doing business :D

it's better to just farm before hand and have the items on hand to sell

This is a simple matter of procedure.

Most people do it this way: "You farm -> Someone needs -> You sell -> Both profit"

But what your purposing is: "Someone needs -> You sell -> You farm -> Both profit"

Honestly there is nothing new about this idea.

Also the prices you are suggesting are way above the cost of people just buying it.

However, if no supply is available, but the demand is high, your approach is to generate a supply on a needed bases, and though while its not instance, you might have a edge over people who just sell items they farmed prior.

But that will only be if the supply does not meet demand. But with the current game play, I highly doubt that is the case.
<Kage_Jittai> ... are you saying I am elite :D
