For those that do not use it. Try the new 4144 patch.
Not only do you get the latest in themanaworld client features, but it also stops spamming and trade DOS.
Why we do not raise 4144 to god status is beyond me. ( you had me at bold highlight sweety.)
Well it stop all of the stuff, no, but is worth the download.

Re: 4144 client and trade spamming.
While the patch does indeed have some good ideas, the implementation "under the hood" is very poorly in many cases. The user interface of many features is also pretty provisorical. There are also some gimmick features of questionable usefulness which have no place in the official release.thedarkfinder wrote: Why we do not raise 4144 to god status is beyond me.
We are considering some of its features for the next release, but just applying the whole patch as-is to the code base would really hurt it in the long term.

Re: 4144 client and trade spamming.
Sorry to jump off topic a bit,
but to you Crush, are we planning to have 4144 support with the ManaServ. In other words does that mean when ManaServ is released, we can't log into that server with 4144? Or will we have to download another client to access this?

Re: 4144 client and trade spamming.
Before the official start of Manaserv we will release multiple new client versions. A patch like the one by 4144 is likely to break with every new release.
The clients for Manaserv and for eAthena are different binaries based on the same sourcecode, just compiled with different settings. Our long term plan is to create a "hybrid client" which supports both servers, but this is still work in progress.
I don't know if the client even compiles with the Manaserv setting after the patch is applied, I would have to try it. A lot of features of the client don't make sense for Manaserv anyway.
