It's disabled. Disabling allow avoid random presses on buttons for switch modes.
Press key 8 on numeric keyboard to enable this bar, and again 8 to disable.
PS: if you move mouse to this bar, it show some help about numbers and letters in this bar.
Also, may I point out that the icon on windows is no longer the cool mana source logo and I tried to change it manually with a little picture but it didn't work.
EDIT: Is there a place where there is a list of all the new commands Mana Source offers?

There is always /help . And the client is called Mana.
thank you. I'm an idiot. I normally play on a laptop, but this was on my desktop and i forget about the numpad. I had trouble with the newest client on win 7. It would load and then try to load a map and shutdown. I am using the older version now, but is this a me problem or compatibility problem?

The latest version of the git client gives me two disconnection errors when I disconnect and my character is left logged on.
1. Get disconnected. Your character stays logged into the server.
2. Reconnect to log your character off the server
3. Reconnect to get another disconnection message even when you're not disconnected at all.
4. Either click OK and reconnect again, or move the notification box out of the way and play as usual.
With the sucky speeds of the servers, this becomes inconvenient very fast.

I have this issue long time ago. If network disconnected (not client itself), then i must do this actions. Or you can wait some time, and freezed charater disconnect by timeout.
