Snoopy, this topic is only for inspiration of the works in the TMW.
The last picture, you did him? Otherwise, no one will the creature the monster because he can be work of another artist.
But as inspiration, i've liked it.
Regards, Tengu.
there only useful as concept. Its not that we can not use these idea of inspiration. He did not hide the file name which obviously says who it is by. He never claimed these graphics.
I only know one thing, this game don't have elemental creatures. Would be nice have some of these monsters in TMW.
These are prototypes, very simple of made for the game (for this reason i will make them). But, is useless make them if anyone like, aren't?
Salamandras (fire element), gnomes (earth element), Silfides (air/wind element) and Ondines (water elemenent). I will not copy this ideas for this game...i want something much more simple (like my spheres), cute and in the same time as dangerous as the "skeletons".
For have a in-depth idea about my monsters, they have a size of a human head (like the "bombs" in any Final Fantasy). They have part of the element that they are made turning around of himselfs (for attack) and etc.
Sorry but I think this "perfect sphere with a label" design for elemental beings is quite dull.
When it comes to elemental monsters we should make plenty of use of the particle engine. Take a look at the "fire demon" npc on manaserv. This npc has no pixeled sprites but consists only of a particle effect. The same can be done with monsters (without even needing a sourcecode change).
Although for run-of-the-mill monsters I would recommend a simpler particle effect. The fire demon effect has a very high particle count which would only be appropriate for a boss monster. With more than one of such an effect on the screen you would quickly hit the particle count limit.
