The Mana World will change. It will drastically change. You can bet that it will change. Everyone has been trying hard to push it into it's next phase, the CRs.
I've played other MMORPGs, in the beginning they started out similar: buggy, minimal, boring, and simple graphics with prototypical monsters with ideas borrowed from other sources. But over time I noticed the graphic artists getting better and better as they expanded content, until they were like unto the gods themselves.
This process takes about 7-10 years.
It takes about 10 years or 10,000 hours of effort to master arts and engineering. Even some of your favorite 2D cartoons, with each new season you could see how the animators got more and more skilled.
Webcomics! (aside from simple and elegant ones like XKCD) you can go back into their archives to when the author was first starting and see how much their style has changed as skills were learned!
The Mana World is in development. Bad things are always easy to find. Please don't see the bad. See all the
good that can be done. TMW has defied the odds already, operating with zero revenue. Our GPL friend, Wesnoth, keeps a donation button handy and offers advertisers spots on their website to gain exposure, I assume that helps pays their hosting fees.
The Mana World is very lucky to have free hosting courtesy of Platinum. Other forks have had to endure needing to find a home, and then suffer out of just not having the resources.
Regular contributors like Axltrozz, Bertram, Len, Irukard, John P, and the others should put a "Donate" button in their signature block. Manasource and Platinum take donations, it just isn't on their home pages. If I weren't dirt poor and at the brink of homelessness I'd give very generously.
Consider what I've said. Consider TMW will drastically improve. Be positive. Those who cop a negative attitude are scaring away contributors with FUD.
THINK: When TMW is one of the best games out there, you'll be able to say "I've been playing since pre-alpha

"
