Re: Please stop kicking the dead

Post by Katze »

well...I have not been online during the weekend and I am sorry if I have been stirring something up again...not my intention...

when I'm ingame I can surely judge which problems I should or should not come back to.

btw: I also suggested to kick afk people. I just said that for ME as a GM it would be quite counterproductive to be kicked while "afk-working".

I may be late, but...

You are correct Michard.

The information I have is:

"Bjorn says there is no need to kick dead players"

If I get anymore information beyond that I will pass it on too you.

The only reason I kick a dead player is if they are breaking the rules, but there could be other reasons I am overlooking hence the "case by case basis".
If you(or anyone) has a concern why a player was kicked feel free to ask. :) In the case of your friend, you can ask Doorsman why he kicked him/her. When I talk to Doors I will ask as well.

Even if Bjorn did say not to kick the dead, what's the problem? YOU'RE DEAD AND AFK. Honestly, is it that big of a deal whether or not you have to spend another 10 seconds to log in?

Opinionated Option: If A GM Gets Enough Complaints About Lag In A Certain Area, He/She Could Do A Global Announcement, And.. 1-2-3 Minute(s) After The Announcement, The GM Will Run A Script, Kicking Everyone Who Has Been AFK For A Set Time.. Or The Server Could Do It Automatically, If The Server Load Gets Heavy Enough.. Could Speed Up The Entire Game, If Done That Way..

But, That's My Opinion.. Just An Idea..
In Game Name: FusionUltima (Mage), And ChaosUltima (Warrior Build, My Main XD)

Sitting or laying in game is an activity, and by the rules, is against the rules.

That is the question.
Fair dinkum. Do you also have a time limit to the nearest microsecond as to how much time is used between keystrokes??

Because sitting whilst typing could be considered as AFK activity because for that fraction of a second between keystrokes you are doing stuff with no activity.

Get real dood.
Wow.

AFK. Means Away from keyboard. You test away from keyboard by verbal command. "Hi, are you there?" If they answer back, then they where at the keyboard.

If you are looking at the screen and not typing you are still at the keyboard, as long as you answer.

BUT

If you are ask to answer, are at the keyboard, and dont, they you are AFK.

You can be activity typing into the keyboard, and still be AFK, because you did not answer the gm.
